The Barometer - Round 14

Herald-Sun
20 June 2016

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: Jake Batchelor came in two weeks ago as a late replacement for Nick Vlastuin and could go straight out again. Ty Vickery struggled again and might need a spell in the VFL. Daniel Rioli was quiet but the rest will do him the world of good.

ON THE CUSP: Vlastuin should return from concussion. Richmond’s VFL side had a bye at the weekend but had a win in their last outing with Andrew Moore showed signs of why the Tigers gave him a second chance with 34 disposals (19 contested). Jason Castagna (31 touches) also put up his hand for another shot at the top level.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: The Tigers have won their past eight against Brisbane and shouldn’t have any trouble accounting for Justin Leppitsch’s men at the MCG. That will bring the ledger to 6-7. Then come games against Port Adelaide (Adelaide Oval) and the Western Bulldogs (Etihad Stadium). If they are in the positive after that, let’s reassess.

I think given he barely moves from the goal square he is more an extra goal post than a witches hat. After running to the50 metre line and back he becomes a behind post

You'd think the club and Ty would get the message by the Bronx cheers against GC. Members don't want to watch that poo. It's so bad it's comical.

The sad thing is, in all probability he will get selected again. And suckers like me who go to the games will put up with it in the flesh. Cue the next round of Bronx cheers....

In the mix: round 14

RICHMOND

Defender Nick Vlastuin is ready to return from concussion, having recovered over the Tigers' bye, but where will he be played? Vlastuin has been moved successfully into the midfield at times and could come into the team in either a half-back or onball role.

The Tigers' VFL team had a bye in round 13, but Troy Chaplin, Jacob Townsend and Connor Menadue are available for promotion.

The Tigers have an opportunity to expose young forward Liam McBean at the top level against the lowly Lions, with the 21-year-old playing just two career games in three-and-a-half seasons.

Ben Lennon will likely need one more week before returning from shoulder surgery despite a rapid recovery.

I'm ready to see the poo truck in Townsend back in. At least he gives it a go so let's see if he can at least look AFL level compared to Brisbane
