WHO ARE THE BEST KICKS AT YOUR CLUB?

Herald-Sun

RICHMOND

Dustin Martin 162 kicks (+4.8% above AFL average)

Trent Cotchin 140 (+3.6%)

Shaun Grigg 118 (+3.0%)

Champion Data’s measurement takes into account the amount of pressure the kicker is under and the difficulty of the kick. It provides the most accurate gauge of kicking prowess.

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

That is correct!

It was what Hardwick told us the other week.

They use it to create a quick transition and stop the kick to a contest down the line. It was that kicking that killed us against North. That and not just turning up!

Wow!  I won!   ;D
Now for the trivia section - Bulldogs are also the lowest scoring side in the top 8!  They are also the side with the fewest points against in the top 8.

So kinda like the tigers last year with the stingiest defence and not breaking 100pts often?

Think is they go backwards then run and gun somewhat efficiently forward. We go backwards, poo our pants, go backwards further and if we are lucky enough to not turn it over, we just bang it down the line anyway

yep, that stat doesnt surprise me, makes sense when you see that geelong fwd press was so effective against them. Geelong probably more so than any other side has a very aggressive fwd press constantly putting a lot of heat on the final man not allowing easy switches.

Another stat to add to the pile is that the Doggies have the highest average possession count per game in the league: 430+ possessions per game, yet they are not a high scoring side!  Brisbane are only just behind the Doggies for points scored.  So the run & gun myth about the Doggies is busted!  They get it around HB, then they go backwards & sideways in circles until they get an opening before they pull the trigger & finally go forward.  They look good in edited highlights when they burst & kick the goal, but against Geelong their play was more like watching a stretch Cadillac reverse parking - lots of tedious attempts, lots of paint scraped off & not much success!
