As long as you are not stocking up on canned food - I'm sure that equates to everything will be ok

http://independenttrader.org/deutsche-bank-on-the-brink-of-bankruptcy.html

Exactly. I couldn't give a flying stuff about a bank going under which Deutsche is on the verge of doing so.

'more media trying to put fear into blokes like u that a collapse is imminent. Stay calm bello and have a red

The Special Inspector General for TARP summary of the bailout says that the total commitment of government is $16.8 trillion dollars with the $4.6 trillion already paid out.

A few poor black Americans dudes not being able to pay off their home loans (and other things) led to the o8 GFC and those in the know saying the world economy was "hours away" from total collapse.

Since then things have not got better.

Seems like a lot of effort for the media to go to to sell a few more papers

I am curious as to your season you think everything will be ok in th long term outside of your boyish optimism

Yes I do and history says I'm right.

Not going to talk about individual cases where people lost their houses. How the hell do I know their situation.

Brexit and hung parliaments have minimal effect on us and that's what I care about.

Tell me how is America going since 08? Still on the verge of collapse are they?

Time to give it up son. If it turns to s h I t just call the Rockefeller boys to sort you out in saint barts

I'm not askin I'm telling- a large factor of the GFC was apparently people on mass, not being able to pay on home loans. Hence we have te fluffy term subprime mortgage crisis. A few poor Americans almost brought down the world economy (and other factors) The world economy is interrelated now, most things have knock on effects.

Historically we have not had several trillion dollar debts or quadrillion dollar derivative bubbles. It's uncharted territory. I am far from an expert but looking into Nixon removing the gold standard or the creation of the fed.

If we were a few hours away from total financial collapse, why can't it happen again? Will the tax payers have enough money to bail out again? How about the one after that?  Surely logic agrees with me, it's a very real possibility it all goes belly up one day

The states have been goin bad since 08. The war time economy keeps up the facade. It did not collapse cause tax payers paid private business trillions in order to bail them out. Yay for capitalism

Here is the sad fact: Over the last decade, the growth rate of real G.D.P. per person has averaged just 0.44 percent per year, compared with the historical norm of 2.0 percent. At a rate of 2.0 percent, incomes double every 35 years. At a rate of 0.44 percent, it takes about 160 years to double.

Another reason as to why history isn't too helpfully in this instance is that money used to be more real than what it is now

Tbf I didn't claim brexit was a big deal. It's not even happened yet, it may not. Fancy Opinion poll really. I'm just a bit fascinated by people with head in the sand.

head in the sand? Its got nothing to do with having your head in the sand its got to do with living your life as normal and control what you can. Are debt levels high-yes, could there be a recession-yes, is world gdp at historic lows-is the global economy struggling for gains-yep but at this point in time i care very little. We havent had a recession in over 20 years so if one does eventuate after 30 will you say i told you so?

Swings and roundabouts. Move on and stay calm rockefellar styles.

So typical of the anti-immigration crowd like Brexit's Farage to cut and run so they can try and avoid blame and responsibility later on when England's economy goes south.

I believe its called a pejorative term.

you see these used all the time on the interweb.

Leftie is a common one when politics are being discussed

Someone on here's preferred method is to use terms like experts or super coach in a sarcastic manner, which is rather amusing

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
