Best ever performances by a Tiger?
« on: December 17, 2005, 05:18:39 AM »
What are the best performances by a Richmond player in a match?

A couple off the top of my head:

1. KB running amok in the 80 GF.
2. Knighter's first half in the 95 GF. Kept us in the game.
2. Cambo amazingly racking up 17 possies in one quarter (the last) against the Dees a couple of years ago.

*Richo's 10 goals against the Doggies in 2004.
Time on in the last quarter against the Hawkes to win for Mark Graham's final game.
That game when we were, what 48 points down, to the Hawkes, only to come back and win
Any time we beat the Bombers.
Richo's 200th game against Port where we beat the reigning Premiers (plus I was at the game)
Win against Brisbane in May (the other game I was at).

I left Richo's ones for you Julz lol  ;)

Another one - Daffy's first quarter against North in that monday night game in 95.

Richo in a Friday night game against the Kangas - missed some of the easiest shots for goal you'd ever see and then had a shot in time on about 20 metres out, no-one could look but no worries he kicked it and sealed the game. The main thing about that game is he took about 18 marks :cheers :cheers

That'd be the game where Broderick kicked a goal before the game started and we won by a couple of points. ;D

My performance goes back a bit. :-[ KB in 1974 at the MCG (can't remember who we played) got 40+ possessions which was unheard of. He played on the ball, as usual seeing he was our rover then, and was an absolute ball magnet in an awesome display. There was no such thing as possession footy, particularly from that Hafey-coached team. No easy kicks.
As an aside, I still to this day can't fathom how he didn't win the Brownlow that year. The same for Leigh Matthews in '73. Probably why I pfffft at Keith Greig, seeing he won it both years. He was good but he wasn't a patch on Bartlett or Lethal.

in no order

rioli's efforts in the 82 gf
kb in the 80 gf
hoggs 10 goals in the mothers day massacre v the pies
sorry richo hoggs 10 goaks v the skunks rates higher in my book than ur v the dogs

and a very special mention, richos 7 goal performance at the sgc where he single handedly beat the swans in the wet. his running goal from 45/50 out was a delight

Not really a game of high significance, but Cambo's effort against West Coast in 2002 was probably the best match i saw him play. 36 touches that day together with 4 goals, three which came from tight angles, and one a 55 metre bomb (the longest kick in his career, lol) jsut before the siren to punctuate the win.

Richo's 28 touches, 21 marks and 7 goals against Fitzroy in 1996 was about as dominant a performance from a CHF that I've seen.
