RICHMOND and AFL Hall of Fame member Matthew Richardson has called for a complete review of Richmond’s entire football department in the wake of yesterday’s 88-point loss to Greater Western Sydney.

Richardson, who was the Tigers’ leading goal kicker on 13 occasions over his 16-year career, said hgis former club “lacked instinct” and said answers need to be found after the Giants booted 17.9 (111) to 3.5 (23) to romp to a huge win in Canberra.

But he refused to single out coach Damien Hardwick.

“There’s been talk about a review at Richmond, and all positions around the football department. I think, clearly, that does need to happen now at the end of the year. I think it’s probably already happening,” Richardson said on Channel 7.

“I would think that around the football department you have to have a look at all the positions. Alex Rance and Dustin Martin have had really good years and (Trent) Cotchin and (Jack) Riewoldt, but the good players play well. After that, most positions would be looked at.

“It’s not up to me to individualise (regarding Hardwick), but I think a thorough review needs to take place.”

The former forward said fans will have had enough.

“It’s record membership this year at the Richmond Football Club

Three years in a row they made finals - they expected a lot more, and it was really hard to watch,” he said.

“Three goals, they kicked. The players just looked to be lacking instinct - they looked reactive.

“I’ve been in that position, and I think I know how it feels. It’s just not happening, so clearly they need to find some answers.”

Hope Richo can say what he really thinks.  Unfortunately he's compromised being part of the club.  Would like him to be considered for a footy director role.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?
