Prestia's manager was on Trade Radio about an hour ago:

Pask on Prestia: We fully expect him to get to Richmond

Pask on Prestia: I think that both parties (Suns and Tigers) have acted professionally so far

Pask on Prestia: We had to make a call on either the Hawks or Richmond, at the end of the day he wanted to go to the Tigers

Pask on Prestia: We're confident and satisfied that Richmond can get the deal done.

Rumours saying the deal is done. Swapping our first pick for 2017 and a few swaps of second picks. :whistle
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

So a likely top 4 pick for Prestia.

Nope!

This is where Balme needs to step in and take the scissors away from the kids.  Hardwick, Dan, Blair and Benny are all in survival mode thinking about their immediate future at the club and will sell our future for a quick bounce up the ladder.  If Balme let's us trade our first rounder then he would have failed his first test as it will most likely be a top 5 pick.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

Does anyone think Prestia is worth a top 10 pick?
I don't, not even close. Pick 20 maybe IMO.

Tom Mitchell is though.
I'd be happy to hand over pick 6 for him.

I actually rate Prestia highly. His problem isn't talent, it's his body. He consistently has been getting injured the last few years. If he can stay fit, he wouldn't be that far behind Mitchell. It is ultimately hard to tell who is better because Mitchell is surrounded by the best midfield in the land while Prestia has been surrounded by guys that are either good but injured or just too junior. He probably gets the tag much more than Mitchell.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Not a top 10 pick for me maybe between 18 and 25 that's all biggest concern is injury's to. Let's hope club handles this better then paying overs for Yarran.

Why Prestia rejected Hawks for Tigers

Tom Boswell
Gold Coast Bulletin
October 4, 2016

AFL player agent Marty Pask has revealed client Dion Prestia rejected overtures from AFL powerhouse Hawthorn in favour of joining Richmond.

Park said a number of factors including the age demographic of Richmond’s midfield led to the Gold Coast Suns ball magnet to nominate the Tigers as his preferred destination.

Prestia is currently 23 and was attracted by the idea of building a long relationship with the likes of Tigers midfielders Trent Cotching, 26, and Dustin Martin, 25.

“We had to make a call on either the Hawks of Richmond. Both clubs presented very well but at the end of the day he wanted to go to the Tigers,” Pask said on AFL Trade Radio.

“There were a lot of factors that came into play in terms of the lifestyle, where he wanted to live, training every day, his teammates and a little bit of list analysis.

“With the age of Cotchin and Martin, he is jumping into a midfield that has fantastic cover there.

“There is a good nucleus for a good, strong midfield there for a long period of time.

“With all these things weighed up he felt very comfortable with making the decision to join the Richmond footy club.”

Pask said Prestia wasn’t deterred by speculation surrounding the future of coach Damien Hardwick.

“We were very comfortable when asking those questions with the answers we received,” Pask said.

Tigers target Prestia trade transaction

richmondfc.com.au
October 3, 2016

With the start of the AFL’s annual trade period now just one week away, Richmond’s focus turns to striking a deal with Gold Coast in exchange for talented midfielder Dion Prestia, who has nominated Tigerland as his preferred new football home.

“List management this time of the year is obviously crucial, and the number one priority is Dion Prestia, who is keen to come here,” the Tigers’ recently-appointed General Manager – Football, Neil Balme, told ‘Roar Vision’.

“We’re really pleased that he’s made that decision, and we’ll be doing everything to make sure that happens . . .

“That’s one of the things we’ll be making work.”

Prestia, who turns 24 next week (October 12), was taken by the Suns at pick nine overall in the 2010 National Draft after starring at TAC Cup level with the Calder Cannons, and also representing Vic Metro at the under-18 championships that year.

He has played 95 games, kicked 30 goals, and averaged 23.5 disposals per match in his six-season league career with Gold Coast.

In 2013, Prestia was runner-up in the Suns’ Best and Fairest award, and he was third the following year.

For the past three seasons, he served as a vice-captain of the Gold Coast’s team.

Next year's tipped to be a bumper draft for talls...with that in mind, I'd prefer we kept our first pick....
