This is a matter for the police now....

Only at tigrerland could we outdo the drug cheats and actually embroil the club in a year long legal battle against itself  :lol

Tigers director Emmett Dunne asks members to back his 'feel for footy'

RICHMOND director Emmett Dunne says his football knowledge and feel for the game make him an important member of the club's board as he bids for election this month.

Dunne, who was a member of the Tigers' 1980 premiership team, was appointed to the club's board in August but needs to be elected by the members to continue.

Following the departure of former captain and club champion Tony Free, Dunne is one of only two past players on the club's board alongside executive director Brendon Gale.

"Football boards obviously need directors with knowledge and a feel for the game," Dunne told the club's website.

"The board has relied upon Brendon Gale and Tony Free in this regard, however, with Tony’s recent resignation, my input is now more important in assisting the Club to achieve on-field success.

"My membership of the Tribunal ensured that I maintained a contemporary understanding of the game, as it evolved over the years to where it is today."

Dunne is seeking re-election alongside incumbent director Kerry Ryan, while lawyer Simon Wallace and businessman Peter Casey have also nominated separately to fill the two available positions.

The board selected president Peggy O'Neal as its 'nominated director' ahead of this year's elections, meaning she is automatically able to serve a fresh three-year term.

Dunne played 115 games for the Tigers, joining the Western Bulldogs for two seasons before retiring at the end of 1985.

He coached the Tigers' reserves, had a stint as the senior team's ruck coach and spent two decades serving on the AFL Tribunal before standing down in August.

He retired from Victoria Police in August 2015 after a career spanning nearly 40 years, rising to the rank of assistant commissioner.

He said his contribution to the club and board was to "trust and support our staff, but to also continually test and validate their assumptions".

Fellow director Ryan, a commercial lawyer who has just completed her first three-year term, is also up for election and said she was proud of her achievements since replacing Gary March in 2013.

"In my opinion, success is about good people, good processes, and always striving to improve," Ryan said.

"I'm passionate about our mission to bring premierships home to Punt Road – and I want this for all our supporters.

"I also believe a diversity of perspectives on the Richmond board is important, and that I add to that diversity."

The Richmond election is taking place electronically and closes on Friday, December 9.

The results will be unveiled at the club's annual general meeting on December 14.

He will be an asset when it comes to working out whether to appeal a suspension when we are fighting for top 4 spot and face a must win game the week after

The thing about Dunne was that as Nominations Committee chair he approved the APPOINTMENT of Ryan and O'Rourke.
I suppose since Free was there they didn't need another footy experienced director.  ::)

As a tribunal member, HE was involved in our bloody shameful treatment there over so many years.   >:(

The catch all clauses about the returning officer being god like cover their arses even more.

Its probably something the media need to jump onto and take these pricks to task over it, but I wouldnt be holding my breath.

And this is why Resolution 4 must be voted DOWN.
It cements the power of the Returning Officer into the Constitution.
The Constitution can only be changed by a 3/4 vote at an AGM.
The By-Laws can be changed by the board at any time.

Well, i got a response to my email from the club.

Despite my specific questions about legalities, all i got was that Emails will be sent out with information on each candidate over the next week.

Wondering if my email was even read or whether by avoiding the questions maybe the answers were too sensitive for the club.

Disapointing and not good enough.

Hi all,

A poll (of sorts).

Do you find the email of candidates broader campaign statements:
(a) annoying - like a wild thing, I'm scrambling for that spam button?
(b) it's good - more info should lead to a better outcome?
(c) yawn - I come from Banff - wot's voting, eh?
(d) Really, there's a vote on?

Second part, what would you like to see different?

Things like - everyone (incumbents and aspirants) are subject to the same restrictions during the election period?
Incumbents who wish to run, must resign at the time nominations close, so they can use the same resources as aspirants? (Similar to above, but removes access to things like RFC website)
Others?

What WP said.

Also, if you can't make the AGM, you have until 6pm Monday to lodge your Proxy form if you want vote on the constitution changes. Forms are available on the RFC website under the Club tab.

I 've been giving the same directions as bigtigercasey.
For more exact directions. The Proxy Form is in the "Constitution" section under the "club" tab.

"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

2016 Board election results
richmondfc.com.au   December 9, 2016 7:21 PM

Richmond Board members Kerry Ryan and Emmett Dunne have been re-elected by Richmond members for another three-year term.

Ryan and Dunne stood for re-election recently with two other candidates, vying for two vacancies on the Board.

Election voting closed this evening, Friday, December 9 at 5pm.

Richmond President Peggy O’Neal thanked Richmond members for having their say.

“We thank those members who voted and those who stood for election,” O’Neal said.
“The Club encouraged all members to exercise their voting rights in the election, and we congratulate both Kerry and Emmett on being re-elected.
“We look forward to Emmett and Kerry continuing to make an important contribution to the Board."

Simon Wallace's response to the election result:

http://gotiges.com.au/resources/Election%20Result%20(Bugger)%2009122016.pdf

All class by Simon

Can honestly say I am staggered by the result. Really thought only one the incumbents (Dunne) would be re-elected and we have at least one new face.

But the members who voted have spoken and time to get behind club for season 2017
