Who will be our enforcer?
« on: January 16, 2006, 03:24:10 AM »
When you think of the premiership teams there always seems to be an enforcer in their line-up who would make the opposition think twice and look over their shoulder when they were on the field. Barry Hall, Pickett, the Scott brothers at Brisbane, Hardwick and Archer come to mind from recent premiership teams.

Staff is one at the RFC who stands out but he's nearing retirement.

Who of the new generation at the Tigers do you guys and gals think could or will become our own enforcer?

i just have a feeling shulz is the one who is gonna show lots of presence, he does run hard str8 at the balll and is a no nonsense player.
tuck will be another, hard as nails.
hartigan if he can bulk up over time is another
and 4 the biggest shock, i think withb 2 more years , pettifer will bulk up mpre and have more confidence and will start intimidating, he is a country bouy and i have spoken to his uncle who reckons as a junior he was exactly that kind of player, no fear full of balls, just needs to recapture that confidence at afl level

Yea Schulzy doesn't stuff around, Staff and Knobel are both a bit nutty but in general we don't have a true enofrcer, especially in the middle!

Foley was 10cm taller and 20kg heavier he'd probably be one!

Schulz for mine - looking at a few of the replays on Fox Footy the past couple of months he's laid some beaut "hip 'n' shoulders" :thumbsup

Problem IMO is that using the old "hip 'n' shoulder" just doesn't come naturally to some players. For Schulz it seems just an natural instinct for others like Richo (not being critical just making an observation folks ;)) it isn't a natural instinct.

That's why I cannot see Pettifer being an enforcer because it just doesn't appear to partof his make-up

Foley was 10cm taller and 20kg heavier he'd probably be one!

As for young Foley - I don't think his size is going to stop him  ;D

im guessing Pattison. he's very animated and vocal at training and loves the hard yards. Maybe after a few years when he's totally comfortable with his surroundings he might come out from behind the Richo's and Kellaways and give us abit of grunt. His Maori Sidestep might not be looked at in such a negative light anymore  ;D

also agree with Schulz too. (i always type SHUL then have to go back and add the 'C' after the 'S' damn annoying)

Pattison + another 3 or so pre-seasons (say 20 more kg) would be my pick.

Big lad. No shortage of angry pills.

If Pettifer turns into an enforcer i will personally give oral sex to the entire Richmond list!

The closest Pettifer has ever come to contact is when his playing a flight simulator!  ;)

From just looking at him, Pettifer now has the bulk to throw around. Whether he has that bit of a mean streak naturally in him is the main question.

Agree blx about Sarge. He has got that wild streak in him :thumbsup.

I've noticed that too, but Sarge is my pick as our next Enforcer

apparently at training today, during game simulation scratch match, pettifer played in the middle and did really well winning the hard ball and putting his body in. lids played up fwd and snagged a few. is this a sign 4 the yr, will petts and lid alternated from fwds to onballers! from reports ive heard petts is enjoying throwing his bigger body around!
