Richmond will pay special tribute to Club great Neville Crowe in 2017.
Imagery of Crowe, who passed away in September following a long illness, will appear on all Tigers’ 2017 membership cards.
Crowe is revered as one of the greatest figures in Richmond’s proud history, and the Club thought it fitting to not only honour Neville, but to also ensure all Richmond members, including the future generations of Tigers supporters, are aware of the impact he had on the Club.
He provided his beloved Tigers with magnificent service in a variety of roles, including star ruckman, captain, specialist coach, president, staff member and Club vice-patron.
The 2017 season will mark the 60th anniversary of Crowe’s playing debut for Richmond, the 50th anniversary of his final game with the Tigers, and the 30th anniversary of him taking on the Club’s presidency.
It was as president that Crowe spearheaded the successful “Save Our Skins” campaign, which raised the necessary funds for Richmond to avoid going out of business.
He will forever be fondly remembered as the man who played such a prominent part in helping keep the Club alive.
"Neville's commitment and loyalty is the reason our Club exists today. I sincerely hope our young supporters ask their parents about Neville and why he is so important to this Club," Richmond CEO, Brendon Gale said.
Crowe’s passion for the Tigers was boundless, his loyalty unstinting.
Yellow and Black blood coursed through his veins and the support he offered the Club, at all times, was unconditional.
He was the epitome of a true Tiger
