Question about the CBF
« on: January 22, 2006, 07:09:54 AM »
A question about the CBF:

Where does the money come from to pay for it? Is it just from a share of gate-takings or is it more to it?

Reason I ask is that someone on HHQ claims it costs clubs with larger support $400k.

That figure could of been pulled out of thin air but if that's a realistic guestimate that's 3-4 times larger than the profit we made this year. That kind of money would also pay off our current annual interest payments.

I heard once that money for the CBF comes from profit from the sale of finals tickets. No idea if it's true or not.  ???

Thanks FF  :). I have no idea either as this is all I found when I did a search on the AFL website.

The Competitive Balance Fund will be allocated from AFL general revenues while the gate equalisation levy will be maintained in its current form.
