Peter Casey - Board Candidate for 2016 Election
« on: November 18, 2016, 08:13:03 PM »
Hi OER community.

As the title suggest, I have nominated to run for one of the vacancies on the Board. Election notices will no doubt be in mailboxes (electronic or otherwise) soon, so please be sure to watch out for them.

If you want to read up about me, please visit my website:

www.tiger-land.com.au

I look forward to any questions, comments, suggestions or just a plain gd'day.

The website will be updated periodically, so please check back occasionally.

While I hope that you will vote for me, it is important that all members make sure their opinion is heard. Your vote will send a message to the club - keep going, or more change is necessary.

Cheers

Now that the election is formally open, I encourage all members to voice their opinions and vote, either for the status quo, of for change.

Ideally I would like to see two changes at the Board level, as a reflection of how the members truly feel about the performance both on-field and more generally at the Board level off-field.

Check out my action plan at http://www.tiger-land.com.au/action-plan. The down-loadable version should be available tomorrow (22 Nov)

The board chose O'Neal.
The board chose Ryan.
The board chose Dunne.
The board chose Gale.
The board will choose Free's replacement.

In the current situation the members only get to choose two of those five directors.
Take back some of the power and vote for Casey and Wallace.

Can you sack 1 or 2 from the footy dept once you get on the board?
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

I would like to see Peter Casey and Simon Wallace elected to the board by the members.

Let the board make the decision between Ryan and Dunne with their little internal board election in the new year, let them take the responsibility for either toasting a past player or a woman (god forbid in this day and age).

Can see it happening, the 2 incumbents not getting re-elected that is

That makes board's decision to not use the Free resignation as a way for people to elect 3 directors thereby guaranteeing at least 1 incumbent bring re-elected and giving members a greater voice all the more...well idiotic

Don't they expect for Dunne and Ryan to get re elected and then they will appoint someone from the Malvern group to replace Free?

Am I being too harsh or does that smell suspiciously like a bribe or payoff to stifle dissent.

"He brings a particularly strong skill set in areas such as ethical leadership, culture and capability, integrity and security" O'Neal said of Dunne.

No, you're on the money.

I laugh at the politics of running a stupid football club.
Where does self interest take over ?
When the people start to question their contributions.

Well, Peter, professionally speaking, they're a questionable lot and if you have half their intelligence,
you can bring the egocentric, unqualified "corporate hole club" (board) to an embarassing end.

Remember, it's not enough to win - people have to lose.
