Question on our President
« on: November 23, 2016, 08:34:42 PM »
Has Peggy ever been voted onto our board by Richmond members?
Was she voted as President by us?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

This has been covered a number of times

No she hasn't been elected onto the board by the members.

Members do not elect the president.  They never have

Under the RFC constitution the board elects the president not the members.

Was she voted as a director to the board by members in the first place?

She was APPOINTED to replace Casey after he retired one year into the term he won in the 2004 EGM spill.

could have sworn that question was answered in the first reply?
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Perhaps but I wanted to be 100% sure that this was a fact.
For me, this is very important -  I may have missed it in the past but personally I don't think a board member should be appointed as president if they haven't first been appointed to the board by the members.

Peggy is a non elected by the members, that's how.
There's an issue of accountability at the club - its starts at the top and the defending of patch by all is just a symptom of this core issue
