A change of scenery and club culture, rather than a better shot at winning a flag.

Brett Deledio says those were the reasons behind his decision to leave Richmond for the Greater Western Sydney.

"I think it was just time for me to have a fresh start and seek something else. I wanted to experience a new culture, new facilities, new coaching and just see whether I could better myself and make myself more rounded," Deledio, 29, said on Wednesday, in his first outing for the club since he headed north.

“The Giants really impressed me last season, the way they played was exciting, and if we can keep growing and challenging each other I certainly see us getting better again.

“I didn’t get to play against them in Canberra last season, but the Tigers boys said it was their ability to run and spread, and they have good players across every line, so I’m looking forward to playing with them and not against them.”
