Cheers Danog
I went to training as well today but watched from the grandstand as you know it was bloody hot in the sun
.
I think Thomson was in the rehab group as well.
Cotch - a man in a boy's body is still the reason they are giving. I don't think he's meant to be back into full training until December at least but that's what I heard about a month ago.
Foley - not his ankle. More back of the foot (achilles?).
I'm not sure what was wrong with Blingers but he told a friend of mine on Monday he's okay so hopefully nothing too bad.
As for main training everyone else on our list was present plus Ben Clifton and the two Irish. I was told by a friend Hooper trained with us last week but she hadn't seen him this week. The other Coburg boys trained with us on Monday.
Training started with a standard kick to kick. They then worked on running off half-back and kicking over a teammate's head running away from them on the wing so the receiver didn't have to break stride. Most of the drills today involved this type of kick in some way. This was followed by full ground rebound work. Basically bringing it out of defence one side to half-back then going inside the corridor and switching with a longer kick to the fat side wing.
They mids also worked on stoppage plays (both ball-ups and throw-ins) and clearance work. Linking up and hard running in numbers. The emphasis today seem to be on quick movement and keeping the ball moving forward. A lot easier of course at training with no opposition.
The main squad then went inside to change into runners and then they came out after 2 hours of training and did a few 800m (two laps) runs. All the coaches joined in as well. Jacko and Whitey finished well in front in the first run with Edwards and Nahas next followed by Lids.
Cuz didn't do the running with the others as he had already ran a few laps during main training.
I took a couple of photos so I'll post them later on. Any questions fire away.
