I specifically asked the club if the boys would be training today, since I was headed into the city for uni, and they said no.  >:(
That's always been the stock standard response from club when there's a closed session.

Craig Cameron mentioned last Thurs or Friday that the boys would be training intensively Monday and Tuesday to make up for the cancelled Allstars game.

I see in one of the photos Cass is still training with us so presumably everyone thinks he'll get the okay to play on.

Is the third trial rookie still around RFCO?

Another week of closed training sessions. Sounds like this will be the case right up to round 1.

From RFC twitter:
"right now there is a skills session, but all trainings this week are closed to public."

Definitely treating training a bit more serious as we head into the season.

MT from your experience watching training during the Wallace error, do you think that there are more closed sessions now compared to then?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I think there are more now. Terry loved talking to the media and therefore nothing was a secret. Dimma is a totally different creature to answer your question HRT.

for the regular track watchers -

Is there any notable difference(intensity/skill etc) between the way we train now as opposed to under TW? Honest appraisal would be appreciated  :)

After the 2007 spoon leading into 2008 we definitely had a large number of closed sessions. Most sessions were "closed" at Vic Park although it didn't stop a few keen fans from being able to get in and watch  ;). There was also in my view an unofficial position to have fewer open sessions back then to remove distractions at training. You would get some people rocking up to training with a heap of jumpers and posters to sign just so they could throw the gear up on ebay. I remember one guy leaning over the fence at Punt Rd asking for an autograph from Richo as he ran past in the middle of training.
