Hows Clingan coming along. Killed em in the finals last year. A Dean Laidley type they believe. Good contested mark for his height.
Playing Coburg ressies at the moment as he's still light-on. There's a couple of people here who rate him highly. It didn't look like Tas trained today. Connors was wearing #45 IIRC.

Training today was at a then sunny Punt Rd Oval. Only a short session on Fridays. Went for about 45 minutes.

Most of the list was in attendance. Only the injured boys were absent - Knobel, Polo, Paddy, Hall, Cogs, Krak and Collins. Pettifer and McGuane did the whole session so they're fine. Browny, Simmo and Sugar did about half the session but they're okay too. Just pacing their bodies.

Royal said Browny pulled up well from last week's match and they are hoping by round 22 Browny will have gained enough match fitness to play a full game as well as playing further up the ground.

They did mostly run and carry stuff running in 2s and 3s today. Obviously done with the Dome in mind. Finished off with goalkicking on the run.

Joel in having a shot accidentally hit a kid standing behind the goals flush in the head. He watched for a while as the kid's dad picked the kid (in tears) up then ran down and checked if the kid was alright and patted him on the head. The kid was back smiling by the end of training so Joel saved the day.

The comic relief of the day was provided by Jade Rawlings who decided to go for a speccie over the bag after Richo and Patto had had a go and went for a sixer  ;D  :wallywink.

Just got back from a sunny but cold Punt Rd Oval. Training started at 11am and went for about an hour and a half. The centre wicket area was such a mudheap that it was almost like a skating rink. You could see the boys watching their feet so not to end up in it.

The actual training was of quite a high standard especially as there was a number of pressure drills rather than the usual circle work. Not all good news though. Hyde hobbled off with some sort of leg/knee injury midway through. Richo is still hampered by that ankle he twisted late in the St Kilda game. He was doing some jogging kick to kick but midway through the session he too limped off into the rooms. He came back out 15 minutes late but couldn't jog and only did some handball work with Wayne Johnston before watching the remainder of the session.

In the rehab group were Knobel, Cogs and Collins. Cogs and Knobel just did some handball with  Collins and Patto for about 20-30 mins. Cogs was swamped by the mass of kids watching training as he went up the race. Collins also did some boundary running. The only absentees were Razor and Polo. Krak didn't train. He appeared briefly and was still limping due to his ankle injury. Don't think he'll be back this week.

As for the main group they did a number of drills today. They firstly had Robbie Kearns down from the Storm again for some tackling practice as well as handballing under pressure drills. The senior players weren't required to do this so Sugar, Newy, Simmo, Richo, Kingsley did some non-contact running kick to kick and handball receiving. They were joined by Browny and Cass. Next up was the usual run and carry in 3s drills except today each group had a "defender" putting pressure on them. Good stuff. They finished off with stoppage work (ball-ups and throw ins) with the squad split in two on each side of the ground and each group subsequently split into opposing teams. Each team had to work the ball and eventually kick it to or through a marked square. Once again pretty well done and good to see pressure based drills on our kicking and handballing in our training. Overdue. Obviously designed with North in mind this week who are a physical side. Just a note on Danny here. He actually trained well and his work in tight in the stoppages was very clean and smart and he didn't wait off the pack for a soft possession either. Maybe at Coburg they should try him as a inside player instead of on a HFF and see how he goes.

The highlight of the day was a friendly stouch between Newy and Howat. After Howat got Newy a bit high in a tackle and brought him to ground, Newy rolled on top and pinned Cam to the ground with his arm. As they got up Cam kept hold of Newy's jumper and then picked up his cap and chucked a Newy. Nothing malice in it but it gave everyone a laugh  :lol.

Any questions just fire away  :cheers

Here's some pics from training. They say Richo slipped over before limping off.

Cheers DC  :)

I forgot to mention that there was a round of applause when Terry had the boys huddled together at one stage. Not sure if that means any unforced changes this week.

MT you need to get into Terry's ear about Meyer, your solution might be exactly what he needs

Sorry I didn't hear any whispers of ins Babsky. Just the round of applause and Hyde and possibly Richo under a cloud at this stage. Craig McRae praised virtually every RFC player who played at Coburg in the EOTT section on the RFC site.

It won't be Cass. Only played a half for Coburg ressies on the weekend and Craig McRae said they plan to build up his fitness levels so he'll play a full game for Coburg ressies this week.

It might be Peterson making his debut for Coburg seniors but that would be just a guess. I don't know.

There are still rumours flying around that Danny is unhappy with the coach and wants to head back to SA. I heard it again today from a supporter who said she heard it from 3 or 4 other people. But there was no signs today of him being unhappy. McRae praised his tackling pressure for directly leading to two Coburg goals in EOTT so why not chuck him in the guts (in spurts if need be if he can't last there a full game).
