Watched about 20 mins. Less concerned about Maurice, He looks better than last year. Quite impressed with Mate. He has got leaner and can move. There was a clear focus in the transition drill to get into the corridor. The patterns and switches that they were working and getting the players to work on was interesting. Also interesting was the focus on skills as a missed kick was an immediate turnover.

Richmond has adopted a radical new approach to pre-season training in a bid, under new coach Adem Yze, to get the edge on the opposition.

The Tigers have brought a heat chamber into Punt Road and modified the oval. @xandermcg9 #9News

Very early days but positive early signs of change given the focus seems to be about improving our ball use and decision making, especially by foot, as well as our fitness. Just need to hear we're also focusing on doing the defensive basics well and Yze will be ticking all the right boxes so far.

ps. Spending plenty of time in the heat chamber will be useful given we'll be playing round 1 in the middle of the day in the heat and humidity of Qld in March (thanks AFL  :P :thumbsdown )

Hope there was also some focus on tackling and tackling techniques... :shh

.

Looks that way. Finally.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Main group (all the senior players) are back on Monday for those interested in heading down to Punt Rd to watch.

ps. 'Spy' says Maurice jnr is being made to do a lot running to catch-up.

Not sure it’s catch up as all players have individual programs. The extra running might well be part of future midfield minutes- part of the plan :shh

Remember he did his hamstring in rd 24 or whatever it was so was probably 3 or 4 weeks behind
