Maric $200k
Hunt  $250k
Morris $250k
Elton $150k

Trade one or two of Miles, Lennon, Lloyd who would all be on roughly 250-350k

and I think Im being ultra conservative  with those guesstimates.

It can be done.
Deledio (Guessing) we're covering 350k, Yarran 500ish?

I think youre right about Lids we're paying something, Yarran pretty sure we did a deal regarding the payout and we're paying(or paid) the equivalent of 100k for this season.

Definitely were covering something from Lids.

The point on Yarran, perhaps we did strike a deal, but at the start of the season we must have at least had the 500k of space for Yarran. Perhaps more.

Logically we cannot afford 2 x 1 million plus players.
Just being pragmatic.

With front-ending & back-loading they wouldn't both be getting a million at the same time.... :shh

Would also suggest considering it was 500k short of North's offer, Martin's 1.1 million was  budgeted for..... :shh :shh

Yarran & Deledio's money will be freed up....plus Hamspud's at the end of next year... :shh :shh :shh

...Rance will likely retire at the end of his current contract.... :shh :shh :shh :shh

...Cotchin's & Riewoldt's next contracts,  if they both continue on, will probably be for less and won't be long ones..... :shh :shh :shh :shh  :shh

...salary cap increases next year.... :shh :shh :shh :shh :shh :shh

..salary cap will likely increase again towards the end of Lynch's contract..... :shh :shh :shh :shh :shh :shh :shh

I think it was reported that Deledio's contract was worth close to 800K when he signed it a few years ago.
We traded to GWS and paid part of his salary to get that 2017 first rounder.
Think it suited both clubs and I wouldn't be surprised to think we paid at least half of his wage.

Yarran was signed on a 3 year contract.
He was seen at the time to be our "big fish" and was going to transform our backline.
Wouldn't be surprised if he was on north of 600K.
He retired with two years still to go and so I think we may have only paid half his remainder.

That's close to a million for two players not playing for us this year.
Of course all the figures in the press are journo's guesses so treat them with a heavy dose of salt.

Interesting to note that Rockliff is reported to be going to Port on $650K a year as a free agent.
Makes reports that he resigned with Lions for 2017 on a figure of $800K hard to believe.
Would have liked Rocky last year but now he's too expensive and too old for us.

Sorry to correct you but Rockliff was already contracted for 2017 it was the final year of his current contract

His manager tried to get them to do an extension mid 2016 chasing around $800k a year after Dan Rich re-signed on similar

But Lions wouldn't do an extension.

Then his manager tried to shop him around via trade last year to get him a long term deal anywhere

No takers; so he stayed at Brissie for 2017. Had a good year and finally got a long term deal with good coin

Lynch in play?

Also on SEN this morning, noted former list manager Chris Pelchen claimed that Gold Coast skipper Tom Lynch is in play.

“We’ve heard the rumour and innuendo, obviously the clubs involved, whether it be with Tom Lynch or others who have got key players, they don’t want to lose them," he told the SEN breakfast show.

“Certainly I have heard discussions around two or three clubs are speaking with him right now.”

Pelchen said the situation was similar to Hawthorn's successful courting of Shaun Burgoyne, which took place over a couple of years before he finally made the move at the end of 2009.

Interesting article.

Would we entertain Castagna for Schache? Id expect some sort of exchange for picks would occur as well.

Yes. Because Stengle and Bolton will be better, and soon.
