Fighting Tiger Bulletin?
« on: June 11, 2004, 02:12:59 PM »
Does anyone know when the next latest Fighting Tiger bulletin is coming out? Just curious if we as members will finally get a detailed and honest written explanation of the whole off-field mess down at Punt Road instead of being kept in the dark.

According to Club Corner last night, about a week or two away MT.

Don't know if we'll get the answers we're after though.

Cheers TS.

I doubt we'll get any answers as well although we deserve them  >:(. Some of the articles coming out of Club in the past in the FTB and especially the RFC website are fairyfloss stuff. Noticed Club Corner defended Greenburg saying he's paid to write positive stuff about the Tigers. I think there's a difference between being positive and living with your head buried in the sand. The Freo game is a perfect example. There were positives - Schulz, Newman, Bowden, Pettifer  :o had good games on quality opponents. However that still doesn't mean you totally ignore the reality that we were a shambles in the second half. I mean 12 Tigers (more than half the team) had only 1 or no possessions in that last quarter.

Has anyone else noticed that even the quality of the Fighting Bulletin has deterioted?  I mean, the quality of the paper.  As I've said before on another forum, I've seen the yearly publication the Bombers have - a big, glossy magazine style - and it leaves ours for dead.

A couple of big differences Julz - though I do agree the quality of it hasgone down over the years ;)

1/ They have buckets of money .... we .... er... don't ;D

2/ Anyone can buy the Bombers one at the Newsagent (same goes for Carlton I think) - ours goes to memebers only  ;D

Not knocking the publication this month as it's one of biggest I can remember the Club has produced in terms of articles and it's good to promote the young kids on our list. Wish they were also promoted to the senior team. However we as members still haven't received any explanation for or outline of our finanical woes >:(.

No Coaches column, no Presidents column, no Miller column...a few fluff pieces about why Cogs and Browny love being at Richmond...a few fluff pieces on the kids.  :-\ ::)
My parents bought me a Richmond jumper and enrolled me in a junior footy clinic in 1981...look at me now.

These newsletters are all about keeping people informed and promoting the Club.

As MT and Gibby have pointed out, there seems to be a lot of promoting, but not much informing going on in this one.

It’s good to read about the players, but it makes you wish you knew which bits are from the players themselves and how much from the Club.  It’s probably not that hard to tell though, with all that Club-speak thrown in. :P

Wonder what newsletters from other Clubs are like?

They wouldn’t be doing that MT  ::), but they’re only too happy to use them at convenient times to ward off the angry ones.

Couldn’t they just use garlic?  Works for vampires.

At least you guys have got yours - I am still waiting.

Though I did get my invite to the member's cocktail party with a JDF newsletter plus raffle tickets on Tuesday.
