Sloppy disposal. Not sticking tackles. We've been like witches hat when they've had it. And we've just been hand balling in circles to blokes who are covered.

Poor entries inside 50, high press exposed on the counter.

----------------------------------

Wouldn't stress too much. This our weakest VFL team so far, sounds like we are missing Maric, Batchelor, CEllis, Townsend and a couple of drop downs from the AFL due to a few injuries.

---------------------------------

Exactly right, easily our weakest side so far

No backline either. Broad, garthwaite, bachelor all out and Elton who can swing back playing in the seniors.

---------------------------------

We have gone from 18 listed AFL players to 12 in this game.

Two of our better ball winners so far in the VFL McIntosh and Townsend aren't playing, along with our first string B line + Elton, Maric & C.Ellis.

Only one preseason game but that's a huge drop away if losing 6 AFL listed players from our VFL side turns us from winning by 10 goals to getting thumped by 10 goals. It doesn't say much for any improvement in the quality of our VFL-listed players  :P. Today was a repeat of what we've seen from our VFL side in recent years since we regained our own ressies side.

As others have stated, forget this game they are preparing for the first round. We will be a contender.

Did Essendon play all their AFL listed players or just 12 like us?

  • RWNJ / Leftist Snowflake - depends who you ask....
Was going to go to this before the main event but couldn't be arsed in the end...much like the side it seems.....

I was there. Other than Morro the back line was full of 2nd stringers.

They had a much stronger team. We rested plenty and Chol looked liked he was still struggling from concussion. Dea was a one man wall for them.
