:lol
Kids? Chances are I'm older than you! :lol

Without giving your age away, earliest football memory?

I reckon I'm older.
Can just remember listening to the 1967 premiership on the "wireless"!  ;D

Wireless?

That's my word  :rollin

3KZ, 3DB, 3UZ, 3GL just some of the old wireless stations in Melb back in the day  :clapping

I used to take my transistor radio to the footy  ;D

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I can remember being driven round in the back of the old mans brand new Sle 1981 commodore mid afternoon in the early rounds of that year. With the am radio on. And every game (all 6) were in Melbourne with a 2pm start, so the around the grounds crosses would be numerous and on par timing wise. Come 2pm the city would stop.

Then wed go home and burn off the rest of the autum leaves in the incinerator (coz it was legal of course).  The smell of Melbourne on still autumn days when our footy team was decent  :gotigers

Yep. Can remember some classic pearls from Jack as they were delivered live...

"The trouble with him is he keeps on going where the ball ain't"
"Bosustow? He's just a good ordinary player"
"He raised his arms up like giant testicles"

 :lol
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

"He's a good ordinary footballer"
"He's so scared he sleeps with the lights on"
"An Essendon supporter is a Collingwood supporter that has money"
"Things aren't the same now that there are five teams in the top four"
"I want you to pair off in threes"
"They've got a couple of good players in Harvey"
"Flanagans trying to use some pace he hasn't got"
"There weren't too many best man on grounds"
"If you don't mind umpire
"Geelong have copulated." - capitulated?
And describing a player who'd had a disappointing game: "He got where the ball ain't."
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Only beaten by the famous Yogi Berra......

Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical.
No one goes there nowadays.  It's too crowded.
You better cut that pizza up into four pieces. I'm not hungry enough to eat six.
Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.
When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
You can observe a lot by just watching.
The future ain’t what it used to be.
It’s like déjà vu all over again.

He hits from both sides of the plate. He’s amphibious.
The towels were so thick there I could hardly close my suitcase.
I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did.
You wouldn’t have won if we’d beaten you.

And of course:
It ain’t over till it’s over!

I do not mind Jack showing his passion. It is the way he plays his football. To me it shows that he cares about his performance and the performance of the team. Having said that I agree he needs to ensure that he does not let his emotions detrimentally affect his game but there is nothing wrong in being passionate. I really respected Richo and Roy Keane from Man Utd for the passion they displayed on the field.
