FWIW heres a report from Big Footy (Calcium man)

https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/pre-season-2017-intraclub-match-finished-see-post-1074.1156610/page-43

Game plan is much better not super quick but certainly faster and more aggressive, far less corralling.

No numbers on white tops is bloody annoying, hard to tell the white team apart from a distance. As for the players

Vlastuin - probably best on, hit the ball and player hard. Kicked 2 goals and will be an asset in the midfield finally

Grimes - didn't notice too much, played down back for the whites

Prestia - looked under dome, especially early. Probably to be expected. Did some nice things but didn't think he stood out despite really keeping an eye on him. Built like a tank with a big arse and legs

Martin - cruised and was still a level above. Whites could have done with more out of him in terms of the game but you don't need that as a club until the real stuff

BEllis - was playing off HB. Personally just thought he was solid. I prefer him on the wing where he can run guys into the ground

Grigg - was in the best, think the game would have been better if he played for the white team. He still kicks way too much without looking and that hurts considering how much he finds it

Lennon - presented and took a few knocks to the head. His kicking is such a weapon and he ran hard at times. But has that Ty laziness still, trying to get out the back of his opponent too much.

Jack - just did what he had to

Cotchin - did what he had to but went up another level in the 2nd and 3rd while still looking he had a few more levels he could reach. Kicking looks better

Bachelor - didn't really notice him apart from when Rioli caught him cold. The whites probably had the stronger backline but struggled to clear d50 which was a worry.

Astbury - similar to above but was very good in the air and hardly beaten.

13 - think he was a ring in? Got 2 really strong clearances

Short - similar to the other whites but when the whites moved it from HB to HF he was usually involved and I thought the whites actually moved the ball better in space. Went up thru the midfield too.

Rioli - 2 ripper tackles on Soldo and Batch. Was clever with his handballs but would have liked to see him more involved. Played Forward the whole time which was disappointing as I think he would have been good on a wing

Maric - played in ruck for whites for half the swapped sides with Chol, was better in the ruck then nank and chol.

Townsend - a one man wrecking ball but VFL is his level

Caddy - slow to get going but really picked up after 10 min. Won hard balls and clearances with Vlas and grigg for the yellows and a reason they dominated.

Lambert - think he was on the whites but hardly noticed him

Griff - one strong mark and that was it

Nank - beaten by maric in the ruck but was aggressive when the ball was on the deck. Needs to build his fitness but can see him as no.1

Miles - just his usual self for the whites. Not sure I see a position for him though with Prestia, Vlas and Caddy joining the kids. Not to say he isn't good they are just better and have greater flexibility

Lloyd - played a lot of midfield for the whites and looked good in there, probably another reason Miles will struggle. Took a hanger.

Hunt - did hunt things. Crap turn overs, good goal and good pressure.

Bolton - was electric in the first 5 but faded. The ball didn't come down a lot and the leap is something to behold. Can't see him playing early.

Oleg - got into the game as it wore on (also was in white so might have missed him early) the line breaking and kicking is great. He, Short and Menadue were involved in the best plays for white but they need to happen more often.

Conca - prolific early and was the best player in the first 10 min. Was still good after that and laid a lot of tackles. There is still hope.

CEliis - the rumors of his death/lack of size/lack of ability have been greatly exaggerated. Had 4 kicks in 50 which all lead to shots on goal and in general probably had 15-20 touches and rarely wastes them. Will be best 22 and was in my top 5. Not a fan of wearing the cap though (goes for grigg too)

KMac - just does KMac things, tough, uncompromising, runs hard and runs straight at the ball. I don't like him of HB as much as I think others can do that and his sometimes iffy disposal isn't exposed

Broad - didn't really notice him.

Moore - really works hard set up a goal by not giving up on the play. His skills are a worry but at least he works

Menadue - in the same category as Oleg and Short. When they are running and moving the ball it looks a million bucks and they often do it together. It's just making it happen more often

Drummond - was solid. Reckon he does all the things hunt does but with more upside

Butler - kept wondering who 40 was. Chased, tackled and pressured blokes. Was a great double act forward with Rioli

Chop - the talent is tantalizing! One minute is smashed by Maric in the ruck then next contest shoves Maric away gathers and snaps a point or gets a clearance. Makes a contest every time.

Garthwaite - the kicking is noticeable but doesn't miss targets and makes good decisions. A full season in the VFL will be great and I think he can be a high quality KPD

Elton - not much.

Stengle - struggled early but was got better. Makes good decisions and knows where the ball is going. More ready then Bolton based on today

Soldo - rucked and looked alright. Still needs more development. Did lay a strong tackle to get holding the ball in the goal square.

Overall my best were

Yellow
Vlastuin, Caddy, Grigg, Conca, CEllis

White
Dusty, Miles, Lloyd, Markov, Short

13 - think he was a ring in? Got 2 really strong clearances

13 was Jacob Ballard, Jake Aarts played for whites & # 50 was newly listed VFL player Brenton BJ Credlin

My best were
Grigg .
Ellis
Callum Moore
Vlaustin
Cotchin
Martin
Match was played in aggressive manner
Few big hits
Game plan was to " squash " the play when inside our F50 irrelevant where opposition were
Rance , Edwards Morris , Hampton , Graham , Houli didn't play
Hampson has back problem
Game plan has definitely changed from last year

lmao bro.

Whether they can implement change when playing other teams, let alone ones that are better, is the test
Caracella and Balmey.
