This kid is one of Dimmas untouchables.  Has to be playing to the coaches instructions.  Has the attributes to be a good footballer but his career has stalled due to a shambolic game plan .

Is the game plan reasonable for his constant contest shirking?

He doesn't need to stop shirking contests to be a good player. He needs to use his running ability to get more ball and use it more effectively when he has it.
Using that tank for defensive pressure would also help.
At the moment, all his running and possessing is on the spot.

Agreed. My point was that it's a cop out to blame his failings entirely on the game plan.

Too many over the shoulder kick to no one disposals, doesn't seem to break the lines like he once did. With the seemingly new game plan and mandate to move the ball quicker and take risks then surely if he is ever going to show his full potential then it must be now.

7m gained per disposal is effectively like playing with 17 on the field.

If you kick it backwards is that a negative number?
eg
kick 1 fwd 20m Aggregate 20
kick 2 fwd 15m Aggregate 35
kick 3 back 5m Aggregate 30??

Correct Minty. It's the metres gained towards goal. It includes handballs, kicks and interestingly running with the ball in possession (although they may have excluded the latter from Brandon's stat to make a point). A backwards hand pass, kick or running with the ball away from your goals (even at a slight angle away) is minus metres.

Thanks Dookie

As a mention to how long he has to prove himself I think his time has run out.

For mine he is OUT

Unfortunately as many before him have shown, he has already shown his full potential and that basically got him drafted and now he is showing where his full potential sits in the grand scheme of AFL football...mediocre bit player who is being shuffled around into roles in the hope something suits him, in a desperate bid to once again justify another drafting stuff up by the guru Hackson
