1. Don't play Houli
2. Don't play BEllis

Bit harsh
50 possessions between them

Of stuffing course you'd chime in with that :lol :lol

Short should come in for him. Played that role last year much better than Houli. Additionally, Rublabla and others have claimed he played a very good game last night. Not sure what you base his poor game on but I don't really care if you based Ellis' and Houli's game on their number of touches

Short played on a top up VFL player last night
No 88 by memory
Only players that would be considered from last nights game are Lennon and McIntosh
It's not his fault who he lines up against....
Why should that count against him?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

It's not about quantity, it s about quality

Staggering they played Houli. Hasn't played all preseason why didn't he come back via the VFL? Should not play round 1. He was very poor. Clearly underdone, so he was a liability. Our back half in the frost quarter were terrible. The positive signs showed in the first 2 weeks with the way they had gelled together was non existent in first 20 minutes. Damage done, game effectively over.

Ellis was better today BUT he played alot on Maine. That contest was about butter (ellis) versus margarine  (Maine), think peole shoud be able to follow me here

I haven't seen the game yet but how much of our performance can be put down to not wanting to show our cards before round 2, WP?

Funny we were talking about that at 3 qtr time.

And my view is very simple.

I still think we are a very mentally fragile (some will say weak) side. I don't think we can afford to be playing games with our intent

First 2 weeks the things that's been the most pleasing has been the pressure across the ground and sticking to it.

We didn't do that in the first qtr and the result of that was certain players went back into bad habits.

Just don't think we are good enough to be flaunting with our form, even in practice games

I agree with you on those points.

What scares me though is that to drop our pressure across the ground and being so far behind at 1/4 time against a club of similar standing is what happen when we do it against GWS, WB, Syd etc.

Houli will be out next week for McIntosh - problem solved. Don't write off Bolton first round either, he is made for the 'G'.....But the more likely scenario is Cellis for Stengle.

WP, agree.
Our intent, endeavour and desire should be the same every game.
I wish we were tough, unrelenting and meciless to our opposition.
Instead we are indecisive, weak and cannot even put a team away when leading by seemingly unlosable margins.

From early observations i think there has been no noticeable shift in our attitude.

Can anyone tell me the make-up of the selection panel. Is Balme on it?

Pretty sure Balme is on it. Hardwick and the other coaches would make up the rest.
