Are Hawthorn tanking their way to a premiership or 3?
« on: April 09, 2017, 10:01:26 PM »
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/gold-coast/hawthorn-bottom-out-after-shock-loss-to-gold-coast-suns-20170409-gvh0lp.html

So who really thinks Hawthorn are a 0 and 3 side? Should the AFL investigate? Msybe put a mic in the Hawthorn coaching rooms. This is very reminiscent of the early Clarkson days. Didn't they  bomb out for 2 years?

It seems very convenient the compromised drafts are over too but that's probably just luck.

They don't have a first round pick.

Then why are they losing by 80pts to the Gold Coast also 0 and 2 before today? It makes no sense.

Yep, the Gold Coast will benefit greatly from Hawthorn finishing right down the bottom!
If only GWS would do us the same favour :-\

Maybe they have run out of luck and talent. I did wonder why they recruited TV. At best he is only acceptable and not very versatile.

Yep. The Saints are the major beneficiary from Hawthorn's massive drop this year. They currently have pick 1 with Hawthorn on the bottom of the ladder.

Maybe it's because they are an old list and because of their success they haven't blooded enough kids over the last 3 or so years

And more than that they are SLOW

They way the game's being played so far in 2017 they Hawks game style isn't cutting the mustard.... they are slow, so slow by foot and in ball movement

We get Geelong's first pick mate. They're 0-3. Not looking so good  :(

How did we get gc 2nd? Part of the prestia deal? I think you are wrong   (would prefer you to be right).  I'm going to assume you are referring to us getting gws 3rd rounder

Gc got bloody 4 2nd rounders

we have
 - 1st round x2
 - 2nd round x0
 - 3rd round x2

Not bad

If the draft were tomorrow: picks 16, 17 , 50, 53

An 71 (4th round)

we got gold coasts pick 24(which we used for Caddy) and prestia for our pick 6 and 2017 2nd pick. So we definitely dont have GC's 2nd rounder this year
