The Crows are a very slick team, we are coming off an energy sapping comeback game against the Dees and playing at arguably the hardest away venue at the moment. Yes we got smacked but on a positive the first quarter was very good but we just couldn't maintain it. We made horrible mistakes yes but we have made plenty in the first 5 rounds but today they were simply shown to be more costly by the quality of the opposition..

Think we all take a deep breath and think back to before the start of the season and our honest expectations for the weeks ahead.

Agreed 100%. I can say we have still exceeded my expectations being 5-1.

Looked like the we went in with a certain plan for this match which didn't work. We got smashed around the contest and in the air.

I disagree.

This performance was putrid. It was like last years efforts. What's the point being a middling team as we are 12 goals off the top team at this stage?

We have a lot of improving to do to win back respect. No better time to do that than next Saturday against the reigning premier.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

82 tackles tonight - yeah we were pretty horrible at times but the endeavour never wavered imo. Reckon that to keep persevering with a loose man in defence which in turn gave them a loose man, was the biggest disappointment about tonights result, that and selection.

Mind numbing stupidity from Dimma this week. They waltzed their way down the park time after stuffen time without us touching it. Not hard to work out u need to go man on man at that point

Knighter, when the stats state that adelaide score 87 points per game from attacks launched FROM DEFENCE, youd think its fair to suggest giving them an extra loose man to play to their strengths is something any opposition coach wouldnt want to do. stuffing ridiculous

Until we get rid of players that let us down every time in big games we will never be any good.
These guys only get you so far.
And they are taking up games that could be put into kids that might change us as a side.

Most defend them after they play a good game against an average side or even worse after a decent quarter but the reality is they aren't good enough against good opposition.

I hope Dimma and his coaching group work this out sooner rather than later.

Their midfield destroyed our high draft pick cadre. Crouch: 24 Sloane: 44 Atkins: 81 Kelly/laird: rookies.

At the time I said taking Prestia was wrongheaded but the Caddy gift ameliorated the damage. This year we must take all our picks to the draft....period.

9 Rory Sloane (Adel)
7 Sam Jacobs (Adel)
5 Matt Crouch (Adel)
5 Rory Laird (Adel)

Why isn't Miles getting a game?

Because of his lack of defensive pressure eg not enough tackles

He'd fit right in out there on the Adelaide oval right at the minute

Second most tackles for us last year (averaged third most behind Cotchin and Townsend)

Castagna is having a dirty day, lots of turn overs, same with conche snoz
All the effort in the world will not cover for poor disposal skills
