The mistake wasn't that he picked Morris, it was because we didn't pick a CHF/second ruckman.
In our first 5 games and again yesterday our game plan has been to get the footy as quick as we can to our forwardline, which in about 80% of the time was long and high. Giving Jack and Elton a chance to bring the footy to ground for our 3 small forwards.
Yesterday Adelaide tall defenders marked at will.
I hope this week he rectifies his mistake. I don't care if it's Elton, Chol, Maric or Soldo but if we want to play like the first 5 weeks we must have that second tall to compete at CHF to CHB.
hmm don't know about that, Grigg generally did pretty well and roved his own tap so it wasn't all a loss.
Selecting Morris was dumb, that selection probably sent a bad message to our high energy younger players who should be getting a game in front of Morris.
Plus the playing group knew they had to cover for his turnovers.
One of our problems last week was pin pointed by McIntosh's great play where he cut inside and delivered the ball up the middle.
Adelaide just followed our players to the sidelines where we continued to attack and out marked us and smothered the play every time.
Our first 1/4 was pretty good but the plan unravelled. 4 quarters like our first 1/4 and we would be premiership contenders IMHO.
Ditch Morris, Ditch B Ellis, replace with Bolton or Stengle, plus would like to see Lennon (whose kicking is pretty good IMO) given a decent run of games.
Rest Prestia put in Miles, Nank out use either Soldo/Chol/Garthwaite
This sends a message to the playing group and gives some young talented and speedy kids a go.
BTW really liked Markov last 2 weeks, McIntosh has really stood up and Astbury is coming along nicely TYVM
