How is 2017 going to pan out ???
« on: May 15, 2017, 12:19:20 PM »
Back in 2000 - Collingwood started the year in a blaze of glory and were sitting second on the ladder with a 5-0 record. 5-0 suddenly became 5-5 and ultimately became a disappointing 7-15 .
As demoralizing as that sounds , the Pies were playing in the Grand final two years later and almost pinched it against the all conquering Lions.

More recently Port started the 2013 brilliantly with a 5-0 record . The slipped to 5-5 before recovering to make the finals after winning 12 games . The Power even handsomely defeated Collingwood in an away final.

2017 seems like a very even competition at the moment.  Almost anyone can beat anyone on a given day. Surely 12 wins will be enough to qualify for finals .

There's so much to like about Richmond at the moment - Dusty , Cotch , Rance and Jack are all playing spectacular football . Daniel Rioli has made me drool at various times.
But the fact we are forced to play Todd Elton is a major concern . It's like playing a man short every week.
Chol and Soldo have shown more than Elton in the pre season , surely its time to roll the dice and see how they go.

Eventually we will find our level. Which is out of the 8.

The next 3-4 weeks are looking reasonably ominous given our form.

Could easily lose all 4 and be 5 and 7. Watch carlton tear us a new poohole the week after that and be 8 losses in a row.

But on the brightside ...that scenario should finally see Halfstep out the door.....  :thumbsup

....but on the darkside....with Martin likely following him..... :thumbsdown

...but on the brightside.....3-4 first round picks.....  :thumbsup

...but on the darkside....we'll probably stuff them up or trade them for players with pre-existing injuries or a bunch of timid KPF's.... :thumbsdown

"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Actually think it will come down to percentage, that could determine who makes it

Ahh a couple losses when we have played poo and all of sudden it's a big meltdown. Glad the club doesn't work that way. We know if we turn up to play we can match and beat the best. I see us making top 8 as we will turn up to more games than not, but I think there will be a few more disappointing losses, or ugly wins.
