i find the afl's retention of the mens competition and inclusion of a womens competition somewhat inflammatory on the basis that it discriminates against non-able bodied persons.

Where is the disabled afl competition at the national level?

and what about the over 65's? wheres their national coompetition?

if the olympics do it why cant we? they have every right to play at the top level too.

and what about other marginalised groups?
Wheelchair footy already exists  :thumbsup.

How come when you google Afl women, there's no pics of all the overweight, barely fit chicks and only ones of half decent looking ones ??

I love women but the footy is unwatchable imo.
I know we have to start somewhere but watering down the talent so early on is crazy.

Why does the AFL forget our gender neutral xersons that feel that xhey can't be "labelled" as male or female but rather not be defined or put in boxes xhey feel xhey haven't been represented and aren't recognised as real xeople.  How is that fair?

When will the AFL start a league for xhem?

Better still maybe xeveryone can have a dose of gender blindness and xwe all can be gender neutrals and the AFL can champion this for all of xus and xwe can have a draft and pick the very best xersons that play footy and xwe all will watch the best league with the best of the best xersons playing this great game.  :rollin

Rugby League would've been the more fitting analogy....Union players are generally private school toffs with university degrees..... :shh

No one from AFLW wanted to go on record and speak on SEN this morning in regards to the transgender wanting to play AFLW this season.

I wonder what the woman are thinking now? After years of no league and finally getting a league of their own and they still have to share it with a born man that feels like a woman on the inside.

Society is gearing for a pansexual world as the world tells us what is normal and acceptable. No longer will be able to think as the thought police will hold us accountable for different ideology that isn't the society norm they tell us it is.

Everything is anything you want it to be as long as you feel it's right within yourself and it's true for you.  :lol :rollin

I think identifying vs having surgery and medication to make a change are 2 completely different things and trivialise what a person must go through to completely change their sex
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

That's why gender confusion is a medical disorder and a psychological one at that. As opposed to true intersex chromosomal abnormalities, if you are XY you should compete in male competitions. If you are XX you should compete in female competitions. You should also not be allowed to use male hormone if you are XX in competition.
It may be harsh but it is fair.
A true intersex should be able to choose which sex they best identify with and compete in that area. They should be able to able to have hormonal levels within the norm for their chosen sex.

OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

maybe they could just make a transgender comp

I used to coach Callum as he was known 10 years ago in u17 cricket.

He was a massive unit as a bloke and bowled sling arm style, in one c grade game he put one bloke in hospital (blood every where on the pitch) and another retired hurt.

As a footballer he could have played senior football as a 16 year old so allowing him to play womens football is just wrong.
