Richmond on winning track: HardwickMelissa Woods

26 May 2017Richmond feel they have the AFL winning formula right, they just need to start winning again.
The Tigers have gone down in thrillers in their last three matches, including last round's three-point heartbreak against Greater Western Sydney.
Desperate to get back on the winners' list this Saturday night against Essendon at the MCG, Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said the performance of his players had kept their spirits up despite the run of losses.
"We're disappointed we didn't pick up the four points but for 80 per cent of the game we were pretty happy with the performance," Hardwick said.
"We're playing some good footy, we're just not getting the result and unfortunately you don't get reward for great effort."
The coach said that all the performance indicators pegged them as being on the right track.
"The indicators we look at are high; we have the template to win games ... it's a winning formula and we've just got to make sure we get those wins on the back of that.
"Our boys are confident with the style and brand of footy that they're playing and that we can take it up to any side."
He said the Tigers kicked 61 inside 50s against GWS without posting a winning score so there was plenty of upside.
"We've got a fairly inexperienced forward line most weeks so that will take some time but we're encouraged each week there's more signs of that coming out."
