Castagna. Hopeless. Averages about 6 efficient disposals a game. hardly made a tackle the last few weeks. Woeful kick, poo set shot for goal.
Gets to where the ball ain't.

He is the one that should make way for Stengel. Lennon for Lloyd. Markov for Butler. Vlaustin for Menadue.

Castagna does a lot of things right one being getting to the right spots. Unfortunately his kicking for goals from set shots is extremely poor and until this is rectified he should not be played in the seniors.

Out Lloyd. He was poor against the Swans and gave two goals way because of mistakes he made. He also missed a shot at goal that he should have got. Out Menadue. In Vlas and Lennon. Grigg was very poor against the Swans. He deserves to be dropped but won't be.

"Richmond defender Kamdyn McIntosh (hamstring tightness) and ruckman Toby Nankervis (corked calf) will be closely monitored this week after they each picked up niggles against Sydney."

This could make selection very interesting if Nank doesn't come up. Anybody know how hes tracking ? Anybody care to guess what the plan would be if he is not good to go?

The Barometer - Round 14

Herald-Sun
19 June 2017

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: No injuries out of the clash with Sydney but a few players struggled to have an impact, namely small forward pair Dan Butler (four disposals) and Daniel Rioli (eight disposals). Rioli did lay seven tackles while Butler had 23 pressure acts but the Tigers need goals out of them.

ON THE CUSP:
Midfielder Anthony Miles continues to display solid VFL, gathering 28 disposals and eight marks against Geelong on Saturday. Fellow onballer Jacob Townsend also impressed with 22 disposals and six tackles while Steven Morris had 20 disposals, nine marks and booted four goals as a small forward. Ben Lennon kicked 2.5. Nick Vlastuin is a chance to return.

CHRIS CAVANAGH’S FORECAST:
A disappointing result for Richmond against Sydney on Saturday, giving up a 36-point lead to lose by nine points. The Tigers’ small and mobile forward line looked electric early in the match but the side lacked forward marking targets as the game wore on and managed just three second-half goals. Archrival Carlton awaits on Sunday for the second time this season. Richmond recorded a 43-point win when the sides met in Round 1 but the Blues have been building nicely, this a huge challenge for a Tigers side that needs wins to hold on to its top-eight spot.

In the Mix - Round 14

Nathan Schmook

RICHMOND

Nick Vlastuin was close to returning from a shoulder injury in round 13 and appears very likely to play at some level this week after missing six weeks. He will need to pass a fitness test this week.

Midfielder Anthony Miles keeps finding the ball at VFL level and has had 35, 34 and 32 possessions in his past three matches.

It is not the midfield that is of most concern, however, with the small forwards who have served the club so well this season going quiet offensively against Sydney. If change is needed then Ben Lennon (16 goals from his past six VFL games) is the best option. Steve Morris also booted four goals at the weekend as a small forward.

Out:  Lloyd, Castagna, Butler, Short
In Lennon, Soldo, Batchelor, Miles

Play Astbury forward Batchelor down back.

Carlton dont have much of a forward line

Lennon yes, Miles maybe but Soldo is injured and Batchelor will likely be delisted at year's end.......plus you've just got rid of three quick players players and replaced them with slugs......yeah that'll work....

Ok you genuises, can anyone tell me why we kick high marking balls instead of low shooting stab passes to our short stocked forward line?

I like how so many apparently think the key to beating Carlton is to make the side slower....
