NIB - joint major sponsor
« on: August 10, 2017, 09:13:14 PM »
NIB are going to be one of our major sponsors next year in a multi-million dollar deal.

Their logo will be on the back of the jumper (so it'll be replacing Bingle). The marketing campaign to go with it is titled "How it should be".

Nib back Tigers as new joint-major partner

Richmond Football Club is continuing to kick goals both on and off the field, today announcing a significant new three-year partnership with leading Australian private health insurer nib health funds (nib).

nib is joining the Tigers as a joint-major partner in a deal which will see the nib logo take pride of place on the back of Richmond’s home and away jumper, as well as on all official Club apparel from season 2018.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said the partnership was an important development for the Club.

“Increasingly it is alignment of purpose that is the key to the establishment of these partnerships and that is very much the foundation that will allow us to deliver great things together,” Gale said.

“Our jumper is the symbolic representation of a strong and bold football club and we share it with trusted and dynamic brands. nib fits that description perfectly.

“nib is joining at an exciting time for the Club and its fans and we’re looking forward to having them with us on the journey.”

As one of Australia’s fastest growing health funds; nib expects the partnership to further build brand presence as well as provide an opportunity to connect with Richmond fans.

nib CEO Mark Fitzgibbon said the company was looking forward to be joining the Tigers and becoming true partners with the Club.

“We’ve seen the tenacity and spirit of the Club and players as they continue to deliver a strong on-field performance this season. We are looking forward to sharing great success with the Tigers as they continue to go from strength to strength,” Mr Fitzgibbon said.

“Not only will this partnership help drive exceptional brand exposure across the traditional AFL heartland as part of our overall brand strategy, but it will also allow us to engage with fans and supporters with some exciting new opportunities in the pipeline.”

Among the additional wins for fans will be extended digital content, enhanced match day experiences, fan giveaways and game day activations, helping to create deeper connections with the Richmond Football Club.

The new 2018 guernsey featuring the nib logo will be unveiled shortly.

Gale also paid tribute to outgoing major partner Bingle (owned by Suncorp) which has had a successful partnership with the Club for the past seven years.

Anyone have any idea on the annual remuneration of this sponsorship.

Richmond’s inaugural AFLW major partner, nib health funds (nib), has re-committed as a joint major partner of the Club’s AFLW team for the 2021 season.

The partnership continues nib’s strong ties with the Club, having been a joint major partner of the AFL team since 2018.

The nib logo will again appear on the back of both the Richmond AFL and AFLW jumpers in 2021.

After the Richmond Football Club won the AFL Grand Final, Ministry of Sport spoke exclusively with Richmond co-major sponsor, nib health funds chief executive of Australian Residents Health Insurance, Edward Close, who explained how on-field success translates to partnership value.

Close said: “The return really does drive higher brand exposure and awareness at a national level… we’re seeing strong correlation in terms of Richmond’s growth and nib’s growth in terms of our brand trust, brand consideration and awareness.”

In an interview with Ministry of Sport, nib Group health funds chief executive – Australian Residents Health Insurance, Ed Close, spoke about the organisation’s commitment to equal representation of men’s and women’s sport partnerships.

After recently signing on as the principal sponsor of the Newcastle Knights NRLW team and the Auckland Blues women’s team, as well as extending their partnership with the Richmond Football Club’s AFLW side, nib’s brand partnerships portfolio is equally represented by men’s and women’s sport.

“A big part of what we’ve been looking at more holistically beyond sponsorship is diversification of our growth strategy, but also our broader business strategy to appeal to all Australians and New Zealanders,” Close told Ministry of Sport.

“A big part of that is shifting the way we operate, the products and services we take to market, and underpinning our sponsorship assets.

“It was a really easy decision to think about, historically, we had gone to market with the three main sporting teams being Newcastle Knights, Auckland Blues, and Richmond Tigers, highly engaged with men’s teams.

“Now we are putting equal weight into each of the women’s teams under those codes and having some equal representation there.
