I'll put my hand up and say I rather not have him at Tigerland. Just don't rate him, never have and certainly don't at $900k a year

And it is that $900k a season that I'd see as the biggest stumbling block getting him

Even allowing for the Pies supposedly "generous" offer of paying $100-$150k of that $900k I don't believe we could fit him under our cap (not that anyone has a cluecwhat next year's cap is at the moment  ::))

Getting him isn't just about the salary in 2021 but right through to 2025.

We have a number of our up and comers going out of contract (Bolton, Balta, Baker etc) next season and beyond and we don't want to end up where we can't keep them because of cap pressures or not be able to reward them how they deserve to be.

What about Prestia, Grimes, Lambert etc? They will all come out of contract durong that period and they deserve to be the priorities

Yes, Cotchin and Reiwoldt are closer to the end of their careers so in time there will be room there but we also have Lynch on a contract that by all reports has been back ended.

Our Club has built something very special, everyone has bought into it and will continue to do so because they all value it. Think that is far more important than that getting Treloar
Agree 100% WP.
Plus ask Dusty who is taking ‘unders’ and anyone else, why Treloar can walk in, get paid a fortune, stuff up chances for our up and comers getting games, just because he wants to come to a club who is in the premiership window.

IMHO, getting “Trailer” is the sort of decision that would have been made in the “olde days” and would stuff up the fabric of the team.

Please, no for me re Adam Treloar.

agree with WP here.

500k max and 2 years only. That is not going to happen so its a massive pass.

Go find our own Treloar one that doesn't cost 900k and has good hamstrings.
It's a moot point anyway.
We just can't afford him...

Only at the right price for a 28 year old, can get it but average skill, let the stupid clubs pay overs.

Have to say I love their desperation.

Really shot themselves in the foot, basically outing him and showing their hand.

My preference is he stays and wrecks their TPP or goes but still costs them a bucket.

Treloar will end up at the Dogs, Dunkley the Bombers and someone at Collingwood in salary cap needs a better calculator
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Collingwood will be forced to pay $300,000 for each of the next five seasons to move Adam Treloar to the Western Bulldogs, according to Trade Radio's Sam Edmund.

The Bulldogs are willing to pay Treloar $600,000 a season, leaving a significant shortfall and forcing the Magpies to pay a total of $1.5m over the remainder of Treloar's lucrative deal.
