“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Reality is we should beat Saints and then it's up to us to show the Cats we are simply a better MCG team.

The day we beat Geelong is the day I believe.

........ though we need to beat the saints first and I'm never confident.

Wouldn't it be just the best thing ever....beat the cats and win a final at the same time.

Need to beat the saints first and that won't be that easy.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

We'll be playing at the MCG in week one of the finals whatever happens according Mark Stevens on Ch 7 (assuming the Bombers beat Freo):

We win tomorrow ---> QF: Geelong vs Richmond @ the 'G

We lose tomorrow ---> EF: Richmond vs Essendon @ the 'G

The positive ahead of today is that we can throw everything into this game knowing we have a break the week after so there is no excuse for not putting the foot down from first bounce.

Let's hope it doesn't take them a 2 quarters to start actually playing.

Maybe our leaders need to start earning the $$$ now and make sure they play above what's expected and set the standard for finals.

We need a complete team defence effort today. No cheap out the back possessions and if they're going to run forward or the contested pill then we must pressure their ball carrier. There's a sense of payback for me against the Saints this afternoon - the bonus prize is a top 4 spot
