So it was leppas idea to go with the small forward.

 :bow

So caracella with the manic pressure, leppa with the small forward line, and dimwit creating the insane connection resulted in a prelim.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Which ultimately begs the question- would super coach have even implemented Leppa's idea had first Hamspud & then Balsa wood Benny not both gone down? :shh

So an assistant coach suggested something to a head coach and it paid off .

Wow , I'm sure that never happens at other clubs  ::)

Does it really matter? Not the first time a club has created opportunities from adversity
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Taking that a little sideways, I hated it when Lids left the club. I could understand why, and why the Tigers accepted the deal, but I still hated it.

I won't go as far to say it created adversity,  but I recall all those stats about how many games we won or lost depending on whether Lids was in the team.

Well it obviously hasn't mattered this year, and I do wonder whether his departure was a catalyst for the coaches having to devise a new forward strategy or maybe even allowing the team to actually reach a different level of performance on it own.

We will never know of course. But other clubs have lost key players in recent times and their teams have flourished. Adelaide with Dangerfield a classic example.

There is no doubt that Richmond now have a raft of players contributing to the team's performance at a much higher level than they have previously.

Did you see the lackadaisical defensive effort by Lids highlighted on the couch last night ??

He must have very mixed feeling at the minute.

So does that make him a good coach or a bad one? To me listening and implementing what your advisers say make him a good coach. I will add that I dont think he has always been like that. Making the change in himself to do this deserves to be acknowledged.
