How are everyone's nerves at this point?
« on: September 19, 2017, 01:31:47 PM »
Have to say I've never really experienced this before. I've become increasingly superstitious this week; and very unproductive at work (although I'm a gen Y so that's par for the course ammirright!!??).

Just wondering how everyone else is coping, what are the feels at this stage of the week 5 days out from the prelim?

Too crook at the moment to really think about it much  ;D

Just trying to get well enough to actually get to the game

feeling OK, Saturday should be massive, I can't go to the GF, I am hoping for the best and just hope that no matter what happens we put up a good show and try our guts out.

I think that Geelong are pretty geed up after our supporters showing them no respect and a 51 point drubbing. Scott would have used that to inspire his team.

My prediction is Gee RFC Grand Final, however would be happier if we were against The Crows.

Still have to beat GWS and the umpires first....I don't think it will be a walk in the park but our boys and supporters are up to it.

It feels like we have played only once in a month . I'm worried we will come out flat .

Looking forward to seeing how the Crows go on Friday - they are in a similar boat .

Im super excited but I know during the game my stomach will be in knots , will probably have to go for a walk around the block during the last quarter - which I have done at least half a dozen times this season .

I think we have been more consistent than GWS this year and we will prevail.  Their record in Melbourne is not great . I think our pressure and a hostile crowd will crack them . I really do believe a spot in the grand final is ours to lose .

2017 is really something special. The Richmond football club is the love of my life ( apart from my son of course) . I was too young to appreciate 1980 . The first season I followed was 1982 . Since I turned 10 we have been mediocre at best .

It does feel wierd to be this close to success to be honest. Football has completely consumed me at the minute.  I think back to 2001 , you just knew we couldn't match the Brisbane juggernaut.  Ditto 1995 when we played our granny against Essendon in the semi.

Funny , you could just tell after the opening JLT game against Adelaide- something was different this year .

The anticipation is killing me. I'm torn between feeling quietly confident (and how could you not be?) and feeling that any confidence might jinx it. I just want this so much.

I grew up attending blow-out after blow-out and taking enjoyment out of "honourable losses". Too young to remember anything from '95 and '01 was fun but we were so far off Essendon and Brisbane anyway it didn't really matter for much. And turned out to be the biggest false dawn of all time.

haha perhaps not as much as us. At least you have seen success.

My youth was spent listening to Rex call 80 point drubbings on saturday arvo's, while my brothers who support pies and blues hung scarfs out the window. hahaha Its been a long road.  :thumbsup

I am confident about it all.

We know our best is good enough. Just have to bring it.

We've beaten 15 of the 17 teams this year. It's good enough to warrant confidence
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
