A mixture of good stuff with the oh dear lol.

Positives:
* The Church and Cat Empire.
* Aboriginal bit.
* Athletes entrance
* The stuff on the yarra - fireworks, fish and all the footballers looking worried about falling into the yarra.
* Delta and the rings of fire lol.

Negatives:
* Ch 9 getting mostly Sydney celebs to host the coverage of Melbourne's games ???
* First half an hour sent me to sleep. Like being at a school concert  :shh. At my place we must be the only Melbournians who has never heard of this boy and his duck story/poem  ???.
* Why since the Sydney Olympics does every opening ceremony now have some kid flying through the air  ???.
*  If you're gonna have people flying through the air you might make an effort to hide the cables from view  :rollin.
*  That kid's spiel for the Queen - "all of us see you as the glue that binds the Commonwealth ...". Okay I'm biased as I believe any monarchy is a load of garbage but for heaven's sake turn it up :chuck.

There was a pic in yesterday's Gold Coast Bulletin of distance runner Sonia O'Sullivan, who's Irish but will be competing for Australia, wearing a Richmond guernsey.

I've never heard of the boy and duck either.  Thought Delta was going to catch on fire.  She looked fabulous though.

You were able to find some good stuff?

I thought it was terrible

Negatives:

Eddie as a Melbournian should have known better - Tony Jones, Gary Lyon anyone had to be better than Raaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy

The duck sucked. Actually I was hoping the live duck would bite the kid just to give us some excitement

How many members of the Webster family can there be left  :scream :help ;D - at least he didn't sing

I don't mind Queen Bessy - she certainly didn't seem to upset that we didn't sing "God Save the Queen" - maybe some of our pollies could take some lesson from her on that one ;D ...............and I actually thought Dame Kiri was the highlight...

Had to laugh when the Kiwi's entered the areana and Johnnie H started clapping - startled the Queen it seems perhaps he woke her up because she was probably as bored as the rest of us

I like that Leila chick from the 9 morning news.
I believe she would be a dirty,dirty girl :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :cheers

I've heard eyewitness reports from parties that she is quite the dirty one, although this was before she was a married woman.

Ran the Lake today and when i got to the old Carousel/Robs Restraunt,i wasnt allowed to run around the front along the water.
About 30 coppers,Pirahna task force boys and and uniformed standing the door.

I was thinking WTF is going on here?

I think Condaleeza Rice was in there.

Should of called her a murderer but i would have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism.

Watched the games tonight on tv for the 100m sprint but stayed on for the 5000m. Sheesh 5 km in under 13 minutes  :gobdrop.

Even when I was fit aeons ago lol I'd be lucky to do a lap around Princes Park (about 3 km or just over) in that time and would be dead on the ground afterwards :P. The Kenyan guy who won was jumping up and down and running around like it was nothing afterwards :help.
