Darren Gaspar Interview
« on: October 31, 2017, 09:05:44 AM »
Hi all,

last night I had a chat with former Richmond fullback, Darren Gaspar!

He was fantastic, really open and honest about everything.

things we spoke about:

-Pressure of being a number 1 draft pick
-His move to Richmond
-Playing in the 2001 finals series
-Winning the Jack Dyer Medal
-The conversation he had with Terry Wallace that prompted him to retire
-His thoughts on the current tigers and the Grand Final
-who he would have picked as the Norm Smith winner

plus heaps more.

really good chat.

you can listen to it here:

IM glad your interviewing more quality individuals rather than your Ricky Nixon types.

Is that the gaspar who, when dropped to the twos, thought he was too good to play at the level, so retired?

Did u tell him to go duck himself?

Hey little J, champion boy of eternity,

he was never dropped to the 2's in his last season. he was picked in the seniors the week he retired

have a listen to the interview and you will hear exactly why he retired.

if you were told what he was told from the head coach, you really don't have much choice.

You do actually

Surely this one isn't hard to sort out, surely there are public stats that will tell if Gaspar was playing reserves before he retired

I personally cbf but I'm sure someone has the time on their hands
