Have seen him kick goals thru his arse for fun. Have seen him clunk impossible marks he is quick he is agile but fmd hard work getting those basics right is the key.
I suppose all im saying is let him play and most importantly play to his strtengths. At this point in time the last thing i want to see is us giving him an out and playing him in the the freakin ruck or sending him back to defense. For me and hopefully us its as a key fwd he will make it.

For me he aren't doing the basics right now lead , separation, , take marks and stay involved.

100% spot on Georgie’s.

But remember Our forward 50 entries are scarce and trash too.

Three talls in the forward line is disfunctional,  Balta back to full back to get his confidence back would make sense.

I do agree but next year after jack has retired balta will absolutely have to play fwd.

Really struggled to make impact last night. Out of form and confidence down.

I would prefer to play him back and play tall in the back half. This would allow Grimes and Broad to play on smalls and use their run along with Rioli and Short. Lynch and Jack as the tall forwards with Stack, Baker, Bolton and Edwards as the smalls.

I like it TM.
Even try Gibcus up forward too let him take one of those screamers.

Looks more settled there tbh.

Open to him playing forward if we have Grimes, Gibcus, Miller/Tarrant and Broad back but if we lose one then Balta has to go back.

I would suggest we are better if we don’t have three big blokes in the forward line

Gives us much better structure when down back

I agree he’s so much better down back can swing up forward if required.

Tracking better than Rance down back at the same age. I would keep him there.

We obviously need another young future forward and depth.

Should we recall McBean?  :rollin

I forget who said it in another thread and similar to what tigeritis is saying above. I think while jack is still playing, baltas place is down back. That doesn’t mean he can’t swing fwd if needed depending on the game situation, but structurally I don’t think the 3 tall fwds + potentially a resting ruck works. Once jack retires which I think will be at the end of the season, I can see balta being a very good fwd for us.
