Has been good all year. I think Young is growing too. More games, more experience and he will find more confidence. With Gibcus and others our backline is looking ok. We need mids and key forwards. Mids that chase. I will make to strange statement again. I would turn Miller into Midfielder. His skills are excellent and he is good inside. Make him train as a big Mid for the rest of the season...

The bozos who do the “bests” often just go off stats.

As a critic and rightly so imo, his last three and a bit weeks have been good finally that consistency at a high level which has been happening.

He now needs to maintain the standard.

I love how emotional he is. Gets angry and nasty. You can see how badly he hates getting beaten in a contest and it's awesome.

Really took king out of the game after that first 15min

BEST AND WORST OF BALTA

There are few players in the competition who have as big a gap between their best and worst as Noah Balta, or the capacity to rapidly swing from one end of the spectrum to the other.

After out-marking Max King on the half-back flank, the athletic defender kicked short to a contest where the Tigers were out-numbered then was caught holding the ball. From the free kick, the Saints scored a much-needed goal through Anthony Caminiti.

Balta was locked in an entertaining and at times spiteful duel with King. The Saints forward shoved the ball into his chest after beating him hands down in a marking contest in the first quarter.

“He’s giving him a f****** bath,” was one Saint’s blunt analysis of the match-up.

He jumped the gun. King had little impact after quarter-time, failing to add to his two goals, while Balta was a major reason why the Tigers won.

One positive was Balta but when your full back is your leading disposal and metres gained winner you know those upfield were passengers.

24 disposals (18k, 6h, 5c, 16u, 83.3% eff.)
7 marks
3 tackles
1 clearance
1 inside 50
773 metres gained
10 intercepts
3 score involvements
2 frees for
3 frees against
94% time on ground

The media is trying to get Balta fined for "staging"  ::).

----------------------------------------

Renewed concern has been raised over players accentuating or creating headhigh contact in order to win a free kick, after an incident during the Brisbane Lions’ win over Richmond on Friday night at The Gabba.

Tigers defender Noah Balta was tackled by Cam Rayner during the match and appeared to angle his head towards the ground despite landing on his body.

It was an act that had the Fox Footy team debating post-game whether a staging fine would be appropriate for Balta, as well as what it meant for the dangerous tackle interpretation moving forward.

How about every time Berry and Roberton kept dropping/throwing the ball to try and make it seem like our players had hit the ball out of their hands to try and get a 50m penalty. Where’s the call for staging there?
