How can a player be delisted, not considered to be in our best 42 or whatever it is, get re listed and all of sudden be in our best 22?

Purely for Instagram so we can have “Easter-egg” as a caption.

Sadly AFL is not for him. A classic case of too good for vfl but not AFL standard. Which blows because he has a bit of class about him but he’s not fast enough mentally to play AFL.

If I'm Jack Ross I'm getting pretty peed off about now.  Why he didn't play and Egg did has got me flummoxed

"He's had to work hard (to get back into the 22). Got the talent to be an AFL player. No doubt about it. He's just got to figure out the work that has to go into being a consistent AFL player. The game is incredibly challenging. It challenges people both mentally and physically. Eggy has more skill than most people on this planet. He's just got to figure out how to use that skill. That's his greatest challenge. He can play the game. We've seen it before. It's the consistency that he needs to get better."

I'm a bit Switzerland with Egg.

He has talent but talk is he is pretty lazy and that's backed up by the comments from Dimma that he just needs to consistently work hard.

My biggest issue is the selection. It was 32 degrees, why are we picking and extra defence who is known to be pretty lazy, who was delisted 6 months ago when we have someone like Ross who continues to have bad luck with selection and being a sub.

We also have RCD who hasn't debuted yet, Tom Dow another first rounder. We speak about depth yet this selection suggests our depth isnt better than a delisted player. Bit concerned with this.

Looking forward to bouncing back next week!

RCD and Jack Ross will replace KMac, Meaty and possibly Cotch. The Egg isn’t of AFL standard but Olly Markov is a different story.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I think it’s a mental fortitude thing. Take menadue for example. Absolute lightning quick and really should be taking people on like Saad but he didn’t back his pace nearly enough. Lennon was meant to be the best kick in his group and should have been slicing oppositions open with his elite kicking like Mitchell but that didn’t eventuate either. And I’m sure I don’t need to harp on about chol’s athleticism vs actual game outcomes. Sometimes the talent doesn’t make it to AFL. It’ takes a lot above the shoulders to execute at AFL level
