Bit of a surprise that one - But isn't it something to do with the move from Optus and devaluation of the stands etc ...

Lets face it the AFL will never let the big 4 Vic clubs fold - means to much money to them.

Kick em while there down I reckon  :thumbsup memory like an elephant here F em  :lol

Maybe the bluebaggers can find some extra $ in the brown paper bags under their desks ::).

How about the AFL - fines them $1 million for cheating and now plans to hand the money straight back ???. CBF = rort!

It was great radio on 3AW yesterday listening to all the moaning after they got thumped, and of course all the callers ringing up giving them heaps  :clapping

Just hope they carry that form into the season  :thumbsup

Happened to hear some of the talk back on SEN, which was on after midnight, and all these disappointed Carlton supporters were ringing in not happy that they’d been flogged by 99 points by Port.

One said he ripped up his membership, another said he wasn’t going to take his kids to watch that sort of uncompetitive rubbish and on and on it went, blaming Dennis Pagan, recruiting, you name it.

I just had to get this off my chest, because I’ve been listening to supporters of other clubs calling us bandwagon supporters, come out of the wood work when you win and all this stuff for years.

Well, now maybe some of these Carlton supporters will understand, even a little bit, what it’s like, to support a team that looks like it’s going nowhere, and it’s hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel.

And when they’ve been copping that sort of uncompetitive garbage, and lived to see their team and club be an absolute rabble, for at least 10-15 years, then maybe I’ll be able to feel a little bit sorry for them.

In the meantime, feel the pain, just like Richmond, and other supporters have done for decades, and not just 3 or 4 seasons.

I wish the Bombers could feel the same pain.  They seem to hit a stumbling block and bounce back.  Their arrogant born to rule supporters need a bit of humble pie i reckon as well  :thumbsup

It's interesting to see supporters of other clubs bagging their own, and saying/doing things they’ve accused Richmond supporters of for years.  Funny how it seems to be acceptable behaviour, unless it’s a Richmond supporter of course. :-\

Would be interesting to see how Ess fans coped in those circumstances.  I don't reckon their supporters would handle it all that well.  They’ve won 4 premierships since Sheeds has been coach and some of them still aren’t happy.  Maybe some of them could appreciate what they’ve got if they didn’t have it any more.

Only problem with that is apart from the flogging we gave them early last year we've still lost every game to that rabble over recent years  :banghead.

The Blues right now remind me of us back in the late 80's. Runners up to two wooden spoons within 6 years. It's going to them ages before they right the ship.

I'd like to see other clubs go through what we've been through the last 20 years and still get big crowds to games and care enough in large numbers to jump up and down in frustration. We might be feral lol but I reckon it shows we're the most loyal supporters in the league who stick through thick and thin  :thumbsup.

Agree Moi and TS. Many Bomber supporters forget the 70s when Essendon were nobodies living on the past glories of Reynolds and Coleman. Unless you lived on the Broadie line back then you hardly bumped into one of their supporters. All credit goes to Sheeds the way he turned that club into the popular powerhouse it is today. Funny thing is we've been out of sync with them over the years - when we've been up the top; they've struggled and vice versa. Hopefully we're witnessing the tide turning our way and the Dons heading towards mediocrity  :yep.

1995 was a good year though to be in sync
