The Pies are 4th tonight but they have had the softest draw. Just 3 games out of 13 so far against the current top 8 sides ::) with their only win being against big game chokers Melbourne on Queen's Birthday.

Wins against Carlton x2, Essendon, Adelaide, Brisbane, St Kilda, Dogs, Freo & as I said Melbourne.
Losses against Richmond  :thumbsup, Geelong, Hawthorn & GWS.

I'd doubt we'd be fearing them in September.

Wouldn't mind a Tigers v Collingwood qualifying final at the G in September. Good game for the competition - when did we last play them in a final, 1980?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Yep, won by a lazy 81 pts  ;D  :thumbsup.

In that 1967-80 era we won all 6 finals against the Pies [hello colliwobbles]. Our last loss in a final to Collingwood was way back in 1937.

A game clear on top tonight :wavetowel

Won the 8-point game and solidified a top 2 spot important for home finals at the 'G  :gotigers.

They just said on the coverage, that every Richmond team that was top of the ladder at round 15 has gone on and made the Grand Final.

First time since the 1970s that Richmond and Collingwood have been both top 2 on the H&A season ladder.

Of course, the clubs were 1 & 2 at the 1980 GF  ;D.

Richmond the shortest-priced flag favourite in years and some fans are getting cocky

JON ANDERSON,
Herald Sun
July 9, 2018

CAN anyone beat Richmond?

Especially at the MCG? That might be the furthest thing from the minds of those at Punt Road, but is the Tiger Army starting to get ahead of themselves?

Some challengers are making their runs while September might be just a dream for others.

JON ANDERSON takes a look at the AFL ladder after Round 16, and how your team is travelling.

1. RICHMOND

Not since Collingwood in 2011 has a premiership favourite been shorter after Round 16. And as their cockier fans point out, it’s all about the three-peat in 2019, not that the players work like that. Injuries: Butler (ankle), Rioli (groin), Graham (shoulder), Broad (cheekbone). SuperCoach: Is Dusty (99) on the way back?

Not a good omen, but it is what it is.

Would hardly think its a time to get cocky as Jon is suggesting supporters are when the last two flags have been won by outsiders.

The anywhere, anytime Tigers.
