Walked out at 3 quarter time without a limp so it can't be a season ending injury.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Dimma said was a minor one. Will get scans tomorrow, likely to miss next week but sounded confident it’s low grade stuff and won’t miss many.

Star Tiger 'not too bad', may face Roos

RICHMOND is confident midfielder Dion Prestia has escaped serious damage to his calf and has left the door open for him to play against North Melbourne on Sunday.

Prestia didn't finish the Tigers' 77-point win over Fremantle and was later seen icing his lower leg.

Scans on Monday didn't reveal any major tears to his right calf and the Tigers will judge his availability on how he presents at the club on Tuesday.

"He's not too bad … it will depend how he pulls up tomorrow; if he's sore, he'll miss, if he's not too bad, he'll have a crack at it," football manager Neil Balme told AFL.com.au.

"He feels reasonably good but we're reasonably conservative with these guys.

"He's not ruled out completely."

The 25-year-old missed the opening three rounds after battling a pre-season hamstring injury.

The Tigers won't take any risks with the gun midfielder and will err on the side of caution this week if the soreness lingers.

yep agreed, iced it for a bit then seemed to be walking without a limp - knowing us he'll definitely miss this week as we err on the side of caution, hopefully hell be back for the eagles game

If what their saying is true about the rock hard ground he’ll probably miss that one too

Dion Prestia

“Dion’s got a very low-grade soleus pathology, as we call it medically. So he’s probably doubtful at this stage for this week, but we just have to see how he pulls up later in the week. His first half (v Fremantle last Sunday), and the amount of running he did, was extraordinary . . . Just after half-time, he noticed he was a little bit sore. With Dion’s body, and his previous history, we just took the safer option with him as well . . . We’re just going to assess his progress during the week and we’ll make a call on his availability later in the week.”

Could any of the many doctors on here put this in plain speak?

Soleus is one of the smaller and deeper calf muscles Chucky. The main one is the larger gastrocnemius which lies on top of it.
So in other words Prestia has a small strain in a small calf muscle. I doubt they will risk him this week as it would be unusual for such an injury to get better so quickly.

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Dr. Julius Hibbert: Homer, I'm afraid you'll have to undergo a coronary bypass operation.

Homer Simpson: Say it in English, Doc!

Dr. Julius Hibbert: You're going to need open-heart surgery.
