PORT Adelaide has officially lodged paperwork to secure West Coast premiership ruckman Scott Lycett on a five-year, $3million deal.

After touring the Alberton facilities and undergoing a medical assessment on Thursday, the restricted free agent has opted to return to his junior club to partner Paddy Ryder in the ruck.

The Eagles now have until 1pm AEDT Tuesday to decide whether to match the deal, which would force the Power into a trade.

Should the Eagles choose to accept compensation, they are expected to receive an end-of-first-round pick.

YOU'RE THE LIST MANAGER - RICHMOND

afl.com.au
6 October 2018

'Be brutal'

All. Guns. Blazing. Get as many quality players as possible, get rid of as much dead wood as possible, and aim for as many flags that we can get. Clear some of the small forwards out as there is excess, and use that cap space on big names, whether it be Tom Lynch, Brad Crouch, Tom Scully or whoever. Make our best 22 as good as possible.
- Leo Rosman, Ringwood

'Extra depth required'

We need a ruckman to help out Toby Nankervis, so looking for another ruckman can be key to ease the work load on him. Richmond should look for another onball bull to trade for such as Jacob Hopper or Sam Powell-Pepper to help with centre clearances.
- Zac Foulds, Mentone

'Start preparing for ageing stars'

Look for any obvious weakness in the current list, and where we can trade current players for big gains. Richmond has more midfielders than it can play in any one game, so trading a few of its fringe players for youth to replace ageing key position players in the future (Jack Riewoldt and Alex Rance, for example) as well as runners like Shaun Grigg and Bachar Houli. Brandon and Corey Ellis, Anthony Miles and Sam Lloyd could bring value, as would Jacob Townsend if Richmond gets Tom Lynch as seems likely. They may even look at offloading a small forward, or developing one for a move to the midfield.
- Troy Watson, Ipswich

DREAM TRADES

Brad Crouch for Tyson Stengle and a second-round pick.
- PC, South Melbourne

Will Brodie from Gold Coast in exchange for Miles, Ellis and a second-round draft pick.
- Chrismond Tiger, Melbourne

Our first-round pick for Tom Scully.
- Yasin Sahin, Broadmeadows

7 Oct 2018

Gold Coast
Tigers VFL pair Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis will join the club for a swap of late picks.

Western Bulldogs
Sam Lloyd has cleaned out his Punt Rd locker and is on the way in exchange for a late draft selection.

RICHMOND

GONE:
Shaun Hampson (retired); Ben Griffiths (delisted) is pursuing an NFL punting career.

IN PLAY:
A host of Punt Rd fringe players are on the move. Reece Conca is off to Fremantle on a three-year deal as an unrestricted free agent, Corey Ellis and Anthony Miles will be traded to the Gold Coast, Sam Lloyd is joining the Western Bulldogs and two-gamer Tyson Stengle is heading home to Adelaide. Premiership hard-nut Jacob Townsend is weighing up his options but could stay, while talented rookie forward Callum Moore will be upgraded. Nathan Drummond, cruelled by two knee reconstructions, is yet to be offered a contract.

TARGETS:
It’s likely the Tigers will only bring in one player during the trade and free agency frenzy, but he’s a biggie — Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch. The Suns have until Monday to match Richmond’s offer but will surely accept pick No. 3 as compensation. Adelaide’s Brad Crouch was never an option.

Bloke I know moved up to the goldy a few years ago, he's an Essendon fan but joined the Gold Coast cheer squad to make some mates up there, long story short ran into him yesterday and he reckons We are trying to get Alex Sexton. He had no idea if it would happen but believes it to be 100% that we have had discussions with him/his manager.

AFL trade news 2018: All the latest news and rumours on every player and club

Richmond Tigers

Out:

Anthony Miles (Gold Coast)
Corey Ellis (Gold Coast)
Tyson Stengle (Adelaide)
Sam Lloyd (Western Bulldogs)
Jacob Townsend (St Kilda)

In:

Tom Lynch (Gold Coast)
Brad Crouch (Adelaide)
Jack Scrimshaw (Gold Coast)

Completed:

Out - Reece Conca (Fremantle)
In - End of second round compensation pick

What we’re hearing:

Reece Conca has gone to Fremantle as a free agent and Tom Lynch will be coming in after the Suns decide to accept the compensation pick - some would call that a win-win situation. It would be reasonable to expect the Tigers to sit back and have a quiet couple of weeks now, but with a need to move some fringe players on for salary cap reasons they'll actually be fairly active around the periphery. Miles and Corey Ellis are going to the Gold Coast and will bring a little bit back, possibly Jack Scrimshaw, and Tyson Stengle is heading home to Adelaide. Chances are the Crows will actually give back something of value which, for a rookie who's managed two games in two years, will automatically be paying overs. Adelaide won't be paying with Brad Crouch, but I can't help but watch this space to see if the prolific-but-injury-prone midfielder may be heading to Punt Road.

Crows interested in Chol as well as Stengle according to a poster on the Adelaide BF board:

As well as Tyson Stengle we also have our sights set on athletic Richmond Forward/Ruck Mabior Chol.

On Chol, its almost like the jenkins pickup if we get him. Athletic forward/ruck on a rookie list with alot of potential. Nothing is set in stone but we are very interested.

No way Chol stays for me I reckon would have got games if he didn't get injured.
