Bogey sides
« on: March 20, 2006, 02:40:10 AM »
If there's one side I want us to beat this year it's the Roos. Every year now the AFL schedules us to play them once in round 11 and even if they come into the game struggling that pump themselves up and we end getting done  :banghead.

And no losing to the Blues either  :scream

When was the last time the Tigers beat the Crows - in 98 ?

I remember 2001 when RFC kicked the first 5 goals at the G and ended up being beaten by 40 points or something !!

Yep you're right DT. Friday night at the 'G. We were 4 goals up at half-time although the Crows were off target and had had more scoring shots. They came out after half-time and kicked 9 goals in the third  :P. I remember Joel having one of his classic pre-2004 brain implosions in the first quarter, when we had kicked the first 2 goals of the game, trying to be too clever running around the man on the mark while having a set shot on goal and turned over the footy giving them a soft goal up at the other end.

99 was the last time. That famous game in the wet where the team sang the theme song in the middle of Footy Park in torrential rain. We never won against them under Spud and I don't think we'll beat them this year either on current form.

Another of our "bogey" sides is St Kilda - ever since 2003 after the Easter Monday game which we won and that dope Thomas said something along the lines that he didn't think the best team won - they have smashed us and proven the comment correct

Would love to beat St Kilda, North  :pray - sick of getting beaten by North. We always save up our absolute worst possible performance for our games against North :'(

For a club that has won only one freaking flag, Saints fans are the pits. Cocky arrogant buggers!  ::) They make Pie supporters look humble  :help

I can understand the Saints MT. They have been down for so long they have had nothing to cheer for so now they have a team which is considered a good premiership chance they are releasing all that pent up emotion and making idiots of themselves. Much like us each year until about round 10.

True Gracie but we don't think we have a whole list of champions.

And like us they haven't won anything yet  ;).

Actually my wishlist going into a season is for 3 wins against these sides - Collingwood, Essendon and St Kilda - I usually say after that I don't care  :rollin but these days.................. there are just so many more teams that peeve me ;D

North, Carlton, Bulldogs, .................I could go on and on  :lol
