Ok just spoke to the club and this is what they said.

UPDATE FOR TIGER GENERAL ADMISSION MEMBERS

No more tickets on sale for members online, walk up on the day and scan in or if they have already bought a GA tkt as i know several who have already they too can scan in but the club said once all bays are taken no more entry allowed, also said to arrive before the gates open at 11.30am

GENERAL ADMISSION AREAS

(General admission club members ONLY) 3, 5, 11 and 17 Richmond club members and Pies 17 home & away members.

>>At a guess 1,000 to 2,000 seats available max on the below stated areas. Standing bays id also say about 2,000.
So i think all up including standing areas about 3000 to 4,000 available, get in first tiger fans lets snap up all remaining seating and standing bays.

Ponsford Stand
Q31-Q36 (Rows AA-MM)*

Great Southern Stand
Q1-Q4*
Q5-Q7 (Rows P-DD)*

PS: On the above areas yesterday it said this>>
*Available for pre-purchased general admission ticket holders and general admission club members (subject to change).

>>So i guess the change is no more to sell online but to simply scan in on the day but has anyone tried to see if they can still pre-purchase with their barcode.

I have also been told that Richmond GA members can still buy online with their barcode numbers, someone did test and said this>>

*Bays M56, M57 and M10 remain for Richmond members as of ten minutes ago online. (All Level 1 seating)
You can buy up to ten tickets too.

*Come on Tiger GA members snap those seats up only a small upgrade fee.

Foxtel also makes money through advertising. At the end of each quarter they have a ton of ads. They can ask for a premium if it's a blockbuster.......

I read somewhere that the Tigers were looking at atleast $1 million from this game. Looks like Brendon Gale will be announcing
another massive profit come seasons end.

Big crowd tipped for Tigers-Pies clash as public tickets sell out

Simone Fox Koob
The Age
25 July 2018

Huge crowds are expected to flock to the MCG on Saturday for the Richmond-Collingwood blockbuster, amid predictions the crowd will be the largest seen at a match between the two teams since the 1970s.

Public tickets for the match have sold out, with the MCG expecting around 86,000 fans to attend. The AFL is expecting numbers in the low 80,000s. There will be limited general admission and standing room tickets available on the day.

The result of the highly anticipated game could also break records. If Richmond win the match, it would give the club an 18-game winning streak at the MCG, which would break the current record at the venue.

If crowd estimates are correct, it won't quite beat the record for the highest home-and-away game attendance for a game featuring the two clubs. The 1977 Anzac Day game recorded a crowd of 92,436.

However it could be the second highest, beating the 1971 April match between the clubs that recorded an attendance of 82,191.

Only two games this year have broken the 85,000 barrier.

Public tickets sold out on Monday, and Richmond have been recommending those with general admission tickets upgrade to a reserved seat.

Ticketek Australia said on Tuesday it was unlikely there would be any further tickets released.

Some resale sites have two seated tickets to the match being offered for up to $250.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon and evening, with a top of 15 degrees with a low of nine degrees.

The clash is highly anticipated, with Collingwood coming off a big win over North Melbourne, despite missing some key players.

The last meeting between the two clubs at the MCG in Round 6 saw the Tigers win by 43 points.

It comes after Richmond became the first AFL club in history to exceed a membership of 100,000.

Richmond-Collingwood blockbuster unlikely to set record crowd figure between the two clubs

JON RALPH,
Herald Sun
July 25, 2018 6:16pm

MCC boss Stuart Fox says every fan with a reserved seat must turn up if the MCG has any hope of breaking the Richmond-Collingwood crowd record on Saturday.

The MCC is predicting a crowd of 86,000 spectators at the Tigers-Pies blockbuster, 14,000 supporters short of full capacity.

Increasingly in sporting stadiums, no-shows from reserved seats is an issue that means venues do not reach capacity.

The highest home-and-away attendance between the two clubs is 92,436 in Round 4, 1977, which seems unlikely to be beaten.

But Fox said any crowd over 90,000 at the 100,000-capacity MCC was a significant feat.

For a crowd over 90,000 the MCG needs a full MCC members reserve, a full AFL Members and for all reserved seat ticket holders to show up.

The game is not a Class A game for the MCC, which means all provisional members as well as full members are able to attend.

“It would be great to think we can achieve the record given good weather,” Fox said.

“No-show rates have become a significant issue and we hope the no-show rates decrease with this game.

“The weather looks good so all going well we can get 90,000.

“Our predictor is saying 86,000 but that can swing by up to 4000 spectators.”

All public tickets have sold out, with limited general admission and standing room tickets available on the day.

A Richmond win would see it beating Melbourne’s record of 17 MCG wins in a row, achieved from Round 2, 1955 to Round 13, 1956.

Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy and a top of 15 with a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon.

The Tigers this week hit 100,000 members, but some of those categories guarantee reserved seats that patrons don’t always use.

Depending on the member/rival club split MCG tenants can make up to $1 million in profit from a bumper crowd of up to 90,000.

There will be very limited general admission seating and standing room available for members and existing GA ticket holders when gates open at 11.30am on Saturday.

They have been retained by the AFL to use as a walkup area on the day for eligible club members and GA ticket holders who do not have an allocated seat.

There won’t be any tickets on sale, but there will be some seating and standing room available for club members with GA access.

Tigers and Magpies clash officially a sell-out

Callum Twomey
afl.com.au
Jul 26, 2018 3:56PM

SATURDAY'S blockbuster clash between Richmond and Collingwood is officially a sell-out.

The AFL confirmed on Thursday that there were no tickets left for the game at the MCG.

It added there will be "very limited" general admission seating and standing room spots available on game day for members who don't have a reserved seat and general admission ticket holders to access.

Earlier this week the MCG was predicting a crowd of 86,000 while the League had forecast a turnout of between 80,000-85,000 fans.

That would fall short of the record crowd for a home and away game attendance between the sides, which was set in 1977 when they played in front of 92,436 on Anzac Day.

The AFL said if the stadium reaches capacity only reserved seat members or patrons with an issued ticket will be granted entry.

Possible showers and a top of 16 degrees has been forecast for Melbourne's weather on Saturday.
