Surreal experience watching it today . Credit to the Bulldogs who came to play .  I wonder how many of our players went into self preservation mode with much bigger fish to fry coming up .

Also what motivation did we really have to go full bore . Corresponding round last year we were fighting for a top position. This year we are two games clear on top .

Looking forward to watching the real Richmond in the finals .

The dogs can play alright, credit to them for a good contest.  Deadly in front of the sticks, lucky they were tired at the end and fluffed the deal sealers.

Dogs exposed us tho like eagles did our weakness this year.Didnt kick it long to our defenders advantage short kicks retain possession and build up and switch it if it's on.Highly skilled teams can trouble us like that if they sustain it.How do we counter it.

I know Jack was on the coleman, but I reckon Dimma wouldn't be happy with that been to much focused on him of late in our 50.Need the small band up and firing pressure and tackling and hitting the scoreboard in finals.

Dogs (almost) beat Tigers at their own game

The Bulldogs took it to the Tigers for four quarters. From the opening bounce, Luke Beveridge's men played a high-risk, high-reward brand of footy which comprised of playing-on at every opportunity, using the corridor and utilising forward handballs – tactics Richmond has mastered. Too often this season, opposition sides have too apprehensive to play an attacking style of football against the reigning premiers. But the Dogs, led by star midfielder Jack Macrae (43 disposals, seven tackles and one goal) and Lachie Hunter (35 and five inside 50s) were outstanding through the midfield, with stellar support from Josh Dunkley (28 and two goals) and Caleb Daniel (29). It would have been one of the upsets of the season, but three shots on goal from the Dogs during the final term hit the post, including Brad Lynch's shot with less than one-minute remaining.

was a lot of lackadaisical out there today.  The amount of uncontested marks and WB players running free blew my mind.

Daniel looked like he was suffering from some kind of infectious disease the way we kept our distance from him all day... :shh

A bit of perspective fellas obviously we weren’t at our best but apart from the few playing for their spot in the finals there was absolutely nothing to play for in this game. We won the game, finished the season with 6/6 wins and are on a 21 game win streak at the G. Most importantly we didn’t pick up any injuries (that I know of) and the only 2 players missing from our best team are likely to be available come week 1 of the finals.

Like dimma said, if we play like that in a couple of weeks we will be beaten but let’s give the players a little bit of credit that they understand the difference between a qualifying final and a round 23 game where the result is meaningless.
