Beatable?
« on: August 04, 2018, 11:21:50 AM »
So, if Collingwood losing to Richmond shows that Richmond can be beaten, and Geelong then losing to Richmond really shows that Richmond can be beaten, then surely if Gold Coast lose to Richmond next week it proves the Tigers won't be able win a game for the next five years!

Maybe it would be simpler if the teams that want to beat Richmond actually just beat Richmond - you know, on the actual football ground, when the game is happening.

Don't forget all those games where teams are close at 3/4 time but get overrun for reasons. I don't know how we aren't bottom four.

Don’t you know that us keeping teams in it at 3qtr time shows that we’re not up to the dominant teams of yesteryears?

Of course we're beatable. Every and any team is especially if they have an 'off' day. There's never been an "unbeatable" team in the history of the VFL/AFL. Collingwood's 1929 "machine" lost to us in a Semi-Final while Essendon in 2000 got done by Plough's Dogs at Docklands. But like those sides, it doesn't mean we still won't/can't win the flag. Our bad losses last year to St Kilda and Adelaide mattered little in the end when we held the cup aloft on Sept. 30 last year.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

You are spot on. Beating Richmond is actually really easy. You just have to have a higher score when the final siren sounds.
