WILL GREG TIVENDALE EVER BE SEEN AGAIN?
Herald-Sun Footy Liftout
Scott Gullan
24th March 2006

When Terry Wallace first arrived and waved his magic wand over the place "Tiv" must have been reading the paper in the can because he is about the only person at Punt Rd who hasn't been swept up by Plough's rejuvenation. Ended up playing 19 games - for just five goals - last year, but was well and truly on the nose at the end of the year and was a trade candidate before once again surviving for his ninth season at Tigerland. Needs to ask the coach to dust off the wand again.

Tivs can only play out of traffic where he has plenty of time to swing onto his left side. Basically a HFF if he does play seniors with instructions to kick long goals so even if he doesn't get much footy he at least be useful with a few goals. He has other younger Tigers ahead of him now IMO and in modern footy you can't afford to have guys who need to stop and swing onto their other foot as it slows the team's movement of the footy forward allowing the opposition to flood back.

It's funny when Tezza was announced as tiger coach I thought Tivendale was one player who'd benefit from the Tezza "run and carry" game plan.

Gotta say I was W-R-O-N-G  ;D

I reckon it may be a bit of a worry - Tiv's on the last year of his contract and the last time he was coming out of contract he had a very good season - he couldn't do it again could he ???

As Dennis Commetti once said "Tivendale - his right leg is only for balance".

Tivva will be surpassed by the younger players in 06.

A good career for someone elevated from the rookie list, probably the most successful (apart from D. Kellaway) in terms of games played.
